ADVICE Rolex Daytona 116523

Hi
can anyone give me advice regarding the Daytona 116523 blue racing dial, I think it's a great looking timepiece and unusual, discontinued and hopefully going up in value?

It's going at the moment for £10.500 pre-owned
anyone's opinion matters to me

Rolex Daytona 116523 Oyster Perpetual 40mm Steel and Yellow Gold with Arabic blue racing dial, 10 ATM, Movement Automatic-Self Winding

thanks

Why would it go up in value?

Sadly all two tone daytona's are resale disasters. I'd stay as far away as possible.

The model you are referring to is trending upward at the moment. If you buy it right you will have a solid piece as I believe they are discontinued now.

Pick the right dial & keep it for a long term, it will appreciate in value compare to any two tone Daytona with a common dial....

Sadly the panda racing dial & the blue racing dial is discontinued....

But it might be a good thing.....

Some opinions matter more than others and this is one I would listen to.

OP, buy what you love and love what you wear. If this is the reference you're after then, as Steve has said, buy right. Shop around and get a full set (box, papers) at a price you're comfortable with. Good luck

I think the blue Arabic racing dial is still offered in 116503 updated bezel..... it is far from being discontinued.

What is discontinued is the PANDA Arabic racing dial of the 116523. You might want to check on this dial option

You may want to check the updated catalog online. I think is a lot different than certain.

It isn't listed along with the panda anymore.

Buy the watch because you like it and will enjoy it. Buy it as an investment and you'll be disappointed.

In the UK you wont do badly on this ref if you buy right, the lack of ceramic D500s is helping demand on other Daytonas.

I believe it is discontinued...but it was manufactured for a short time apparently with the 503 bezel. One of our members has an example...perhaps he will chime in.

Either way, it's a beautiful and stunning watch. If you like it buy it.

I think that's probably true at the moment. It was the advice I was given from a few people when I was recently looking for a watch. But I did end up buying one myself (lots of pics here https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...Daytona+straps) purely because ss versions of the watch I wanted have become too expensive for me. I doubt they will ever become collectables but I think they will get easier to sell as others find themselves in the same boat as me..

Very true. But I wonder why? Not much demand?
