Uncertain as to where to direct my questions.
Hi all, As the title says, I'm having some difficulties as to where I should direct my questions. I'm new to this forum but not to watches (I'm a watchmaker). In my years as a watchmaker, I have collected a number of watch parts (dials, crowns etc. for Rolex, Omega and more) which I'm looking to sell. I would like to reach as far as possible into the world, but I have never sold anything outside Europe and I'm a bit uncertain about which rules/laws apply to selling/exporting parts (new and used). What are your experiences with dealing (parts only so far) abroad? Anything good/bad/difficult?
Again I must apologize if my questions are asked in the wrong area of the forum. :) Cheers and TIA. Ps. I live in Denmark. |

Welcome. Parts shouldn't be a problem across the continents unless they contain prohibited items. My understanding is that you can now send Rolex to the USA (there are a number of posts here).Use a good international shipper and you should be fine.

Lovely. Thank you very much for the info. I've read a lot of the post concerning tax/duty on export/import, and my concerns about shipping items out, was that I thought it would be a shame if tax or duty expenses were so high that the interest would fade. In my country, importing anything from outside Europe and above 12 USD, would automatically give of a "fine" (not a fine per se, but it feels like it). I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter whether it's new or used goods. So naturally my thoughts were that countries outside Europe might have a similar system.
