Submariner Serti etched crown?

Hi,

I just bought an 2007 Z -series Submariner with -Serti dial. The watch has "Rolex rolex rolex" at the inner dial, but I just can't find etched crown from the 6 marker. I have searched with different lights, with loop etc. There isn't a etched crown...

Is there something I should know about this watch? In Serti model, should there be that etched crown?

If it's a genuine Rolex, with a genuine OEM crystal, it will have an LEC.
The type of dial has nothing to do with it. Light colored dials do make it harder to view though, as compared to a black dialed watch. Black dials give a better background contrast for viewing the LEC.

I think I have seen pics where it's not always at the six o'clock position. I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It could have been on service crystals?

^This. If it's a genuine Z serial with original crystal, the LEC is there.

This is usually the case on a crystal without the cyclops to orientate the install.
It has been reported, but I believe it would be rarely done I'd have to think.

It's difficult to find because the etching is inside the crystal. That makes it at a completely different focus point from the dial, which most people tend to focus on.

Alternatively it could be an aftermarket crystal as I have seen those before.

I've had people swear to me the crown isn't there and every time I found it. Sometimes it is very hard to spot, sometimes it just pops right out.

Milgauss GV is the only new Rollie where the crown is not available. In all other models, look really close :-)
