Very interesting indeed. I love the fully graduated bezel nod back to the Mil Sub.

The fourth minute mark is the outside of the number and the the fifth being directly between the two numbers. Example: The 49th second marked by the outside of the five while the fiftieth marked directly between the 5 and the 0. This can be easier demonstrated hands on as the bezel rotation precision clarifies this.

If they really are brand new watches at an AD. Then why no plastic on either of the watches?
Looks like a custom job. |

At that resolution and size, there is too much blur and jpg artifacting to be sure. It looks like it could be cloned in PS, but then again it might just be the low quality of the image creating the telltale signs.

And... I hope it's not real. I like the graduated bezel on the SD and the DSSD.

I'll never believe in 'official exceptions'
It reminds me a pic of a TT black sub with milsub insert..it was 'original watch in AD's stock'..we,ve never seen another one and we're still waiting |

The bezels themselves are definitely NOT the same. The SD bezel is much thicker. Maybe the inserts are the same size..I can't say about that.

This saga is very interesting - I do hope that the graduated bezel remains on the SD4000. It works so well and really makes the watch "pop".

Someone change the title? I thought the 116610 is the SubC?

If this bezel change is true and continues in SD4000 production, then that removes one of a very few differentiating features as compared to the SubC Date.
Hard for me to believe that Rolex would do that intentionally.

It was a mistake, Rolex is rectifying it. Per IG.

If The guy got a letter from rolex acknowledging the mistake collectors will want that watch, me personally I like the fully grad bezel of seadweller. I tried one on at the KOP dealer and the only thing I felt was "weird" after wearing my friends Subc for a day was the lugs "appear" smaller. Is this true or just a visual thing?

I find it be another one of Rolex's ingenious feats of design and function that you won't see in other dive bezels. Think how many are fully graduated 100% or that have some graduations after the 15 min mark, not many. Iirc Doxa has one of the only ones that looks decent. The bezel on Deepsea and SDc looks proportioned and aesthetically pleasing, yet fully functional. I guess its just some might be too lazy to visually process the effect and need the actual markers. In any case just as someone mentioned regarding the SubC's that appeared a while back with graduated bezels....never confirmed or seen again. I't possible it could be a Rolex mistake but they will never in a million years admit it so the watch won't be collectible because of that as most like me will first think it's been modified(in spite of what someone may say).....then of course there's the issue of fit like Jake B states. |

I think the graduated bezel worked on the DeepSea but the SDc bezel looks too busy for me. I would prefer the SDc to have the SubC bezel...I think the current bezel is holding me back on buying the SDc.

If a manufacturer wants to call a watch a 'divers' watch then it must meet ISO 6425.
IMO this is why the new SD has the minute graduation all round the dial and it had nothing to do with aesthetics. From ISO 6425. A 'diver' requires: *The presence of a time-preselecting device, for example a unidirectional rotating bezel or a digital display. Such a device shall be protected against inadvertent rotation or wrong manipulation. If it is a rotating bezel, it shall have a minute scale going up to 60 min. The markings indicating every 5 min shall be clearly indicated. The markings on the dial, if existing, shall be coordinated with those of the preselecting device and shall be clearly visible. If the preselecting device is a digital display, it shall be clearly visible. WatchTime tested a Cartier and called it a 'divers' watch but it didn't have the minute graduations on the movable bezel. When I called them on their mistake they gave be a spin about their interpretation of the standard. Seems clear enough to me and WatchTime got it wrong Bigtime.

I am from Thailand. I also have new sd4000 with subc bezel on it. This sd4000 was bought in 2017 in Thai AD.
