Anyone have 44mm vs. 47mm wrist shots?
I've asked this on another forum, but currently own a 44mm Panerai 359. Love some of the 47mm's, but not sure if it's right for me. I've tried them on the past and I always thought that the 47's look too big, but each year I go back to wanting one. Does the size grow on you, or is it just me forcing myself into a watch that's too big?
What are some of your own experiences between the 2 sizes? My wrist is about 6.75. Thanks!

My wrists are same size as yours - and I think 47mm on me looks way too big. For me even 44 is borderline as I think sometimes its a 'tad' too large - but def hits the sweetspot of not sticking out or looking out of place. Sadly I also had to give up owning some of the 47s for this exact reason...

I have a 232 and a 000.
The 47mm radiomir and the 44mm luminor wear similar in my opinion. |

Really depends on the wrist shape and the 44s and 47s in question.
I would guess that since you are happy with an auto 1950 Luminor, there's a very good chance you'll like something like a 372. A Radiomir like the 232 will probably fit you even better. |

Agree that I love the 372 / 422...don't really want a Radiomir. The crown guard is a must for me.

I wouldn't get a 47mm with your current wrist size. I own a 359 and i have about the same wrist size as you. And i think the 44m is big and i prefer the 40mm size personally.

Went to the AD today and tried on a 423...nothing has changed, still too big. Guess I'll have to stick with the 359, which seems to fit like a glove even more now!

I have 422 and 441, I love them both. I also have 6.75" wrist too. I initially think the 422 looks too big on my wrist when looking back through mirror. But it grew on me, my wife doesn't think it look big on me either. I love owning a 44mm black and 46mm steel. mesmerizing just looking at both of them.

I think you wear your Pam too close to your hand which might be making it seem massive on you. Try wearing it back more towards your elbow

Don't just use your wrist size as a guide.
Look at your forearm size and shoulder width as well. You relate a watch's size to the person's body as a whole and not just the wrist. Look into a full length mirror and see if the watch sticks out from the rest of your body and if not then you are fine to wear it. |

I have a ~7.5" wrist similar to Directioneng above, maybe even a bit wider. I can wear a 47 or even a big pilot without it technically being too big, but I don't like the way they look. 44's the max for me.
Good luck. In my opinion, at some point big and bold becomes ridiculous and clock like. That 231 looks really nice though, so maybe the max might be 45...

A 6.75" wrist doesn't automatically exclude you from wearing a 47mm! See how it looks on with respect to your entire frame.

Anyone have 44mm vs. 47mm wrist shots?
Remember 47mm Pams are designed to look big and do look big even on thicker wrists. When I look at the wrist shots here, with wrists which I guess vary between 6.3 and 7.5, I can't see any significant difference in how the watch looks - attractively large but not clownish at all.
And much depends on the shape of your wrist and your whole body profile - length of arm, height, etc. I tried on a 47mm 372 on my 6.5 flat wristed, long armed appendage. Looked big but the watch was flat and stable on the wrist and looked fine. I loved it and I'm expecting delivery of one today or tomorrow so I'll try and post some wrist shots when I get it. But the problem with wrist shots is they always make a watch look big. Like you , I love the 47mm Pams and could not get the 372 out of my head. Ideally you need to live with one and wear it over a period of time to see if the size is too big for you. A few minutes trying it on in the shop is not always enough. If you could get a decently priced used one and wear it for a while - hopefully you would not then lose too much if you feel it's too big. Sometimes I think you just have to take a risk on your wrist I guess it's possible that I will grow tired of mine after I get it - hope not but only time will tell

To my eyes they look bigger. The bulkier bezel makes a difference.
