....what's up with placing the word 'automatic' on every freaking watch dial. (automatic watch dial that is)

Still not sold on the blue hand other than submersible models, but, overall, a very nice package, IMO.

To differentiate from the more "historic" manual wind models? Plus, "automatic" isn't an unusual term on high-end automatic watches.

Looks good, although like Cru I'm not 100% sold on the blue seconds hand.

I love the blue accents on my 615. On this one, it doesn't look quite right on the seconds hand. Perhaps it's the brown tones that clash? Overall, not a bad looking watch but it doesn't quite tick the boxes for me personally.

Is this one of the thinner models? As a new convert to Panerai, I tried one on, but it felt like a dinner-plate. Like the blue hand though.

The blue seconds hand against a tobacco dial looks plain wrong

Not a big fan of the unpolished cases.

the blue hand kinda stand out too much and doesn't going with the dial.

I am all for the thinner case, but I like 351 better for the color coordination.

a bit late to this thread, but overall I like it - but then again I always liked the 351 which this pretty much is apart from the blue second hand and the faux vintage lume as opposed to standard green lume on the 351.

The only other difference I noticed between the 2 was the movements.

The 351 has the P9000 this has the P9010 - anyone know what the upgrade is as the both share the same complications which is basically time, date & second hand!

You asked the original question nic, do you like it? or what are your general thoughts on it?

Regards

I'm in the middle of a decision between the 312 and the 1312. Same movement comparison and by the research I've done, the difference between the p9000 and the p9010 is that the p9010 is a thinner movement to accommodate the thinner case. Both have a 72 hour power reserve. The p9000 has 28 jewels while the p9010 has 31 jewels. The newer 9010 also features a balance bridge secured on both sides. I just can't decided on which model to go with. I love how the 1312 felt on the wrist and I don't really mind the blue second hand but with this purchase being my first Panerai I almost feel like I should keep to the purist style and get the 312. So confused. not trying to hack your thread.

Hi - Your not 'hacking my thread' it's good your sharing your thoughts with fellow enthusiasts.
Thanks for the info on the differences between the 2 movements - I actually did not realise the 1351 had a slightly thinner case.
Ultimately, only you can decide which version is right for you, sorry if that doesn't help much!
I don't mind the blue second hand either it adds a different dynamic to the overall look of the watch.
Good luck in your final choice and don't forget plenty of pictures..

I like the 1351 and the blue hand doesn't bother me too much, the watch is just not sufficiently different for me to want to trade one of my existing PAMs for this one.
