What about this Sub?
I am just learning the ropes.
Opinions please. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-18K-Vintag...d=p3286.c0.m14

overall fine.
looks great. dial might be a replacement tho. (Orchi?) nice refinish job. Looks like the lugs may have had some wear and tear from the original gold bracelet. but overall looks genuine. The guys 97 percent feedback rating is a bit bothersome but he allows payment by credit card and he has been on a long time so.... Jeff |

I stand to be corrected but should a nipple dial be an older than 87 model(ie 82-84), I thought by 87 they were the same as now in the Sub dates?

Err buddies...the "Nipple" Dial belongs to the RARE Transitional 16800/16808 Sub...correctly...n looks near flawless considering its age.(over 20 years)
It's a pity it hasn't got the original matching bracelet..."92908" Rolex Oyster 18KT Yellow Gold bracelet...which could cost upto USD9,600 or so...when NEW...at the time. |

Orchi, the reason I questioned it was when looking at old documentation, the nipple dial disapears approx in 84... thanks for clarifying! Never to old to learn..

...Orchi...
...just an observation, but in YOUR pic, it APPEARS that the minute hand is UNDER the 6 o'clock hour marker.

Had to look at that photo a few times to see what you were talking about. Good catch Stan.

Err buddies...hahaaaaaaaa ...that's funny...!
If you look at this other pic from the same listing...you would see that there's a shadow below the minute hand...n it's well clear being above the 6 o'clock marker... Hahaaaaaa...perhaps it's just an optical illusion or something like that... Also...this pic would show that the earlier position of the minute hand...n there is no sign of any part of the Dial having any gazing mark which might have been caused by a 'fallen' minute hand of that sort... Hahahaaaaaaa...! Somebody better ask the Seller...to post a picture of the minute hand having pass the 6 o'clock marker...so it must have passed the 5 o'clock marker... when the pic was taken then.... |
