No DaytonaC at Rolex London Heathrow Airport
When flying through Heathrow in early September I stopped in to the Rolex AD in the Airport. I looked for a DaytonaC to report back to TRF. I was told that they have not received any DaytonaC's at all.

I was in Mall of the Emirates today, they had a beautiful white gold Daytona ceramic with MoP face, rubber strap and diamond numerals... 15% discount offered, more interested in my SS white Daytona Ceramic though. They have no idea when they would get one.

I’ve never seen an SS Daytona sitting in an AD window ever. Well not a MSRP.

it wouldn't surprise me. Airport purchasers are one and done buyers and WoS being the largest AD in London i'm sure they would much rather offer the watches to repeat customers and VIP's and there are plenty of those in London at their other stores. Sending them to the airport doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I heard airports don’t have waiting lists. If they get one in they put it out and sell it right away. At least that what they told me at the BKK airport.

I asked a friend who is Good customer of the AD at Heathrow to inquire getting a SS 116500 White DaytonaC from them a few months ago and he was told the same thing.
If anyone else go through there check in with them. I was surprised my friend was unable to get one from them especially when they had just got him a Paltona.

I'm pretty sure there was one SS DaytonaC in the shop at that time.

I don't see why Rolex would send many popular models to airports where customers are mostly foreigners, esp as this would anger other ADs who are all struggling with miniscule supply that they will only sell to locals now.

I've seen them in AD's before in london too. Its rare. There is always an exception but people actually plan trips around the hope of seeing one at the airport. Its a bad move.

Its obviously no secret that ADs are selling to grey dealers privately through the back door first and charging premium for them. So why would they sell at MSRP to a "customer". So that's the reason you always here that "we only get 1-2 a year" which is 100% BS. In return, grey dealers are charging $16k-$17k plus for them....some are even charging $18k+ which is just absurd IMO.

I was doing my usual travels two weeks ago and passed by the Schipol airport AD in Amsterdam, and on the way back the CDG airport AD in Paris.
The Schipol AD had a Bluesy and a BLRO (once the AD saw my BLNR she let me view and try on the BLRO ...felt really good on the wrist, and the extra weight was a charm). I made my mind that I will purchase a BLRO soon, and God willing it will be from that AD. I love good customer service. The Paris AD was odd. Just like the Schipol AD, not stainless steel pieces. They did have an odd looking PM SkyDweller (it seemed out of proportion), and some Daytona (non C). What was odd about the CDG AD is the sales lady 'promised' me that if I bought one of the watches on display, she would put me on their list for a stainless steel SkyDweller. I basically stifled a laugh - I may have been born at night, but I was not born yesterday. I'd probably have to buy half their collection before she would honor such a promise, and even then I doubt she would! But the Schipol AD was 100% plus. |

I recall a while back a member here from Los Angeles had six 116500 for sale within a 2 month window. He also had a bnib BLNR for $8K with the AD's name not covered... and it's the name of my AD
Go figure no wonder they haven't received any since I picked mine up, these backdoor deals are crazy Quote:

Money? Could money be at the root of this? I'm sure sure an AD would be offended if you suggested any such thing. |
