Putting a GMT caseback on a Sub?

Has anyone here ever tried putting a 16700/16710 caseback on a 14060 sub? I have (and love) my Sub, but I like that the GMT sits a little lower on the wrist and don't need more than 100m of water resistance.

I think rotor clearance is the issue. The crystal of the sub may be thicker making the dial deeper.

I believe it will fit fine, the caseback of the submariner is thicker because it needs to withstand more pressure when it is used for diving.

So its tied 1-1, anyone else out there who can break the tie? I can't be the first person who's ever thought of trying this...

Edit: check the threading. I know the YM case back threads are a little different than my GMT

Thanks everyone! Love this forum :). I'll be sure to post pictures of how it sits on the wrist once I actually find the part...

P.S. - Vanessa, I'm in Huntington Beach so I might be calling you at some point in the future...

Bas not only had one it was NOS in the original package! Thank you again sir!

I think you might have me mistaken with someone else.

This took place at the VRF probably 4-5 years ago? Ring any bells?

I don't think you know me, Bas is a very common name here. So it wouldn't suprise me if there's another watchmaker here in the Netherlands who shares my first name.

I'm sure that's what happened. He's a long time poster at the VRF. Is Bas a diminutive? Like Sam for Samuel?

It originates from Sebastiaan. But in my case my full first name is just Bas, which is probably one of the most common men's names here.

I do not know why I have never thought of this. I do not dive so changing out the case back for a slightly slimmer profile makes sense.

Thanks for the post and idea.

Keep in mind that the GMT caseback will be good for 100m of depth, so it would be fine for pretty much everyone.
