WOW! Stunning Daytona! Very beautiful! And keep in mind that you could always pick up a 6263 bezel and mix up the look if you like (although I realize that's not easy).

What's the beginning of the serial number? The dial looks similar to my 6263 but more silvery.

Big congrats!

Thanks again for the kind words. Glad to hear you guys approve....as you know these watches come and go (albeit less often than some of the other references) but key is condition/condition/condition....so I was really happy to see this come up and couldn't pass.

Thanks my man, your 6263 pics served as a constant reminder/inspiration for this grail. I do realize that and I know a well conditioned non-service insert probably goes for $3k-$4k ish so I may do that once in awhile to switch it up....but I am just digging the metal bezel so much now....for sure the honeymoon needs to be over first.

The watch follows IMO the typical silver pattern of 6263/6265 I've seen. In earlier references till the late 70s, the color looks almost like a creamy silver...where the newer dials look more sunburst silver. Mine is 955xxx cica 1986, so near the end of the run (probably why the condition is as is, still fairly young compared to some older bros out there).

Yes, yours looks super clean and beautiful! I wish any of the 6263s bezels were only $3K-$4K nowadays. Even the service bezels are topping $5K, I think partly because the differences are so minimal (unlike bezels inserts for, say, 5513/1680s.) Also, the 6263s bezels often look horrible when they age, with cloudy white splotches, unlike the cool fade you get on old Sub bezel inserts.

The difference in the "Big Red" silver/cream dials is pretty dramatic. The creamy look of the earlier dials (till late '70s) is very apparent in this photo of my 6.0 serial version, compared to the shimmery look of the silver dials. Both are great!

Astonishing watch!
I created a similar thread not long ago when I picked up my 6265, so I know exactly how you feel.
Wear in best health, and HUGE congrats to you. :)
