Accuracy of Rolex 3235 movement (SD43)

I measured my SD43 over a couple of weeks and was really impressed. -1,1/day. I'm I lucky or is the movement that good?

My 3235 DJ41 is +3 seconds since I bought it on 24th August (6 1/2 weeks ago).

That's +3 seconds TOTAL, not each day.

That sounds like a quartz! Congrats but I must be skeptical.
My latest DJ41 3235 is about +2 over every 4 days. (avg +0.5 every day)
and I thought that was awesome.

Rolex's own claim is -2 to +2 secs per day
So you're within specs
All my recent Rolex purchases are +1 to +2 sec fast per day
I prefer + rather than -

No what Rolex does claim the movement has been tested on a machine to a precision of -2+2 but this factor could differ while on the wrist.

My SD43 is highly accurate with new movement. Less than one second per day.

My DJ 41 is +1.3 per day. I think this is extremely fair and do not need any other regulation.

The new movement does seem pretty spot on. Impressive results.

I've been very impressed with the new movement so far.

Also, the new in house Tudor is pretty sweet as well.

My watch was manufactured before the new COSC specs(116520 from 2014)... I just had my watch serviced last month; I now assume they have regulated to the new spec. Is this a correct assumption?

I'd assume not, as your movement isn't one which can attain that degree of accuracy. In other words it's not advanced enough to keep time to the new COSC spec's accuracy requirements.

Similarly, asking for your 1953 Sub to be regulated to the new spec would be impossible too.

Well,......I'm afraid mine's not that accurate. Just checked against my atomic clock and she's running -29 Seconds.

Wait........just remembered,...........I haven't reset her since the purchase the first week of June!!!!!

So that makes it about -7 seconds per month, or about -.25 seconds per day!!! And just for argument sake, I wear this one about 4 to 5 days per week, and she's on my Orbita when not on my wrist. Keep her pretty wound up!

Very happy with this one!

Cheers,

J

I guess I will be the stick in the mud padi, but I just looked at the rolex site. It says +or - 2 seconds per day after casing. Not sure how you interpret that to mean "but not on human wrist".

It means the Rolex testing modality and sequence may not precisely replicate the individual's wearers habits.
The wearers habits will ultimately determine the end result.

Whilst accuracy is the metric used to determine the performance of a movement and marketing strategy, the new standard is actually reflecting the level of precision and accuracy potential.
Which is impressive none the less.

But my 116520 Daytona movement (cal 4130) is the same movement in my watch as is in the new ceramic Daytona ref 116500, which are now regulated to current COSC spec. I understand with different and older movements; but I am thinking same movement—but new regulation methods to ensure operation within new spec. Just wondering. Thanks for the reply!

My Milgauss is +1 a day and I couldn't be happier. Easily the best accuracy of any watch I have ever owned.
