SD runnning slow ?????
Do I have a problem or not? I have a Sea Dweller that is about one month old. I wear it everyday But do not have a auto winder yet. I keep it on the night stand face up at night. My Question, I set it to the USNO clock. For 2 days it was on, now for the last 2 days it has been 5 sec slow. I am going to keep tracking it, but do I have problem or is this normal ? I have only checked it for the last 5 days.
Thanks in advance, Be Safe JIM |

I have the same problem with my Sub Date.
It is probably not a "problem" as such. I doubt that your watch is defective. Its probably that the movement needs time to bed in and settle down. You need to check it over a 7 day period and then average out the weekly loss to get the daily loss. Do this over a period of time - say one month. That information will then be useful to Rolex if you need to take your watch in. It might only need to be regulated to ensure the movement is in synch with your wearing habits. Others have reported similar problems with new watches - including me. Are you wearing it enough to keep it fully powered up?

Mine had strange deviations for 5 months
I knew that it usually takes 1-2 months for the watch to get used to your wearing habits or break in but mine settled in after the 5th month Give it some time and in the worst case you'll just send for regulation

A modern watch will break-in in about 2-3 days. Your wearing habits and how active you are will have more of an effect on how the watch runs. -5 seconds in 2 days is well with COSC specs and you have nothing to worry about. A fully wound mainspring will actually cause the watch to slow down, conversely, as your power reserve decreases, your watch will speed up, this is why measuring your watch over a longer period will give you a more accurate indication of your watches performance. In the meantime, enjoy your SD!
