Rare Sub sells for £230,000!
Did anyone else catch this story?
On October 12th 2017, the BBC reported that a rare Submariner sold at auction for a whopping £230,000. However, from a WIS point of view, the report gives very little detail about the watch itself other than its from 1965 and they show a vague picture of its very unusual 3 6 9 dial with straight baton hour markers as opposed to the more usual circular indices we normally see. I am interested if anyone has ever come across this reference before or can share more detail about this particular watch. For example, what reference is it, just how rare is it, how many were made with this unusual dial etc. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-41597833 Thanks in advance for any more info... |

It's ok, not everyone will have seen it. I'm sure you won't be the last person to post it, either
