I am a fan of the GS and most of the watches in Seiko's dive line-up. With that said, I would not consider the GS over the DJ41. I see the DJ41 as a continuation of a classic Rolex and a classic watch across all brands. If you buy the GS you own it. Resale values almost don't exist based on which watch you buy and most of the TS will not touch it on a trade. I don't know that if you get the GS that you will not still get the DJ. Your choice, of course, but I would not buy the GS.

Depends on your priorities. If under the radar is a prime driver or you just want an other-than-Rolex experience, and you like the aesthetic, seems the answer is Seiko. I’d have to try them both on. You didn’t ask, but the Snowflake dial looks very appealing in the photos I’ve seen.

I guess for me it would be the DJ. Although I would not buy one for me, I prefer sport watches, but I do like the one that a poster put up on this thread. I guess a part of me would not want to justify the price and so forth to people, with Rolex that's not much of a problem. And the resale would be a problem for me.

However, a friend of mine who posts here from time to time has a wonderful Patek collection, and Rolex as well. He recently got into GS. He commented once to me that in his opinion, if you could remove the GS form the watch and put PP on the dial they would sell for PP prices and are every bit as good. His opinion.

Rolex.

GS going to be a pain to maintain and doesn't hold value as to non WIS, it is just an expensive Seiko unfortunately.

It's all about the fit and feel of the watch, IMO. I know the new jubilee with easy link on the DJ41 is one of the most comfortable and great feeling bracelets in the Rolex line up, IMO.

I don't know anything about the Seiko, so if that's what you're into...and fit/feel are important to you, than I would make sure that you are OK with the bracelet/clasp. Also, do your homework on resale value. Good luck!

Snowflake and the Hi-Beat are my favorites from Seiko regarding white faces.
The Snowflake just becomes one of those watches you can’t stop looking at as there’s always something interesting to discover about it.

Unfortunately choosing a Seiko over a Rolex is still tantamount to the “Lexus Effect”—Lexus is a great brand, but you will most likely end up with a European auto with price points being the same.

Also as everyone has touched base on, resale value is virtually nonexistent. If you’re a serial flipper then no GS will be for you.

Their auto movements are pretty thick. At that price point, I'm headed to other brands
Also that clutched second hand movement is very special and the accuracy is incredible.

My guess is that if you buy the GS, you will later buy the Rolex. If you buy the Rolex, you won’t later buy the GS but another Rolex. I don’t know about GS Service. I have experienced Patek service costs and time. If I have known what I was getting into, I would not have bought Patek.you might do some research before buying the GS.
There's practically no service required on their 9F movement and the battery enclosure is separate from the sealed movement.

Rolex, yes Seiko is rendering accuracy too but it's spring loaded not as mechanical movement as Rolex. Not to mention, resale price wise Rolex would hold a better value

Congrats!!!
Stunning watch!

I'm also looking for a GS chronograph! It amazes me how smooth the spring drive second hand moves.
