Icon9 Cannot change strap!

I'm unable to change the strap on my 104. On one side the pin releases just fine, but on the other, not at all, no matter how hard I push. Am I neglecting to do something here?

Thanks - I'm hoping there isn't something wrong with the watch. I just wanted to try out the included rubber strap.

While pushing in the push button, try pushing in the lug pin on the opposite side. The lug pin just may not be seated. If that does not work, you might want to try a very very micro drop of oil into the push button (to help loosen things up and oil the spring) (WD40 would work also, but just a little bit). Also try a little bit of oil/wd40 on the lug pin side as well. If all above does not work, then take to AD.

Try tapping gently on the lugs, then gently push the pusher in and then try sliding out the pin.

Thanks for the tips guys, but no dice I'm afraid. :( I'll take it back tomorrow and see if there's anything they can do.

Mine was -40s/day from the AD.Had it regulated by the Vendome service centre and now its VERY accurate.Take it back and I am sure they will sort out that pin quickly.

Good news - took it back, and it turns out the pin was just very stiff. The AD said it should loosen up - they had probably never taken it out before. Enjoying it on rubber right now!

I'm not very happy. The problem persisted, causing me to snap off both sides of the plastic tool. I took it back to my AD, and he said he would get a new pin, and plastic tool in (assuming it was the pin that was the problem).

As my girlfriend was off from work today, she went to pick it up (a week later) and was given only one half of the plastic tool, as for some reason the AD thought I had told him I snapped off just one side.

In any event, I don't see why you provide only one half of the tool. What on earth is being done with the other half?

Additionally, my girlfriend tells me that when he demonstrated to her removing the pin, he could not get either side out! So I'm going straight there after work to get the other half of the tool, and see what condition these pins are in.

This is unacceptable. My AD is a nice guy, but sometimes I get the impression he's just making excuses. Should these pins not be pretty easy to get out? Could someone at least confirm that?

Bit of an update - seems that because my AD thought I had snapped off just one side, Panerai sent out just one side of the plastic tool. He's going to take the other half out of another box and order a replacement for that.

So, I'm happy with that. Let's just hope the pin is finally okay! I am glad to finally have my watch back on my wrist though - but very anxious to try out the G10 strap I ordered and have not been able to put on!

I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone is searching for the same thing on Google, Tri-Flow lubricant can do wonders to the PAM push buttons. Just put a drop on the button directly and inside the lug hole. Let it sit for about an hour. Voila! Push buttons work like new. Of course if it's mechanical damage, you are SOL.

Here is the link to the product I use:
