PAM 005 and PAM 111
Hello,
Can anyone highlight the differences between the PAM 005 and the 111, other than the logo on the dial. Also, what about the availability of each one? (easy/hard to find) at the ADs? Thanks a lot |

The 005 I believe has an undecorated movement and solid case-back instead of crystal. There are many many more 111's out there than 005's. Price is less for the 005 if you can find one. |

The fiver also has a painted dial where the 111 is a sandwich dial. I'm fairly certain both movements are decorated, but you just can't see it on the fiver with the steel cover as opposed to the sapphire display case on the 111.
the 111 was started year E (2002) the 005 was started year G (2004) Here are the production numbers PAM 005 (G+H+I+J+K) 6,000=1000+1200+1600+1100+1200 PAM 111 (E+F+G+H+I+J+K) 20,500=3500+4000+2000+2000+2500+3500+3000 So yeah, the fiver is rarer, but the 111 is well loved. I wouldn't base your decision on which is rarer, but which you want more. 111 SANDWICH - Notice how the black part of the dial is cut out to show the luminova underneath. That is what is called the sandwich. ![]() 005 Painted - Painted Luminova on a black dial ![]() 005 next to 111 ![]() ![]()

![]() I've always found the term "painted" a bit odd when refering to these... I have a 000, and the numerals & ticks are basically "drilled & filled", which is actually pretty neat. |

Thank you so much for the details and comparison, really appreciated
![]() I joined this wonderful forum to get info on the Rolex models, espcially my beloved Milgauss GV, and i really got lots of info that put me, at the end, in a long queue at my AD waiting for it (maybe after months as i was told) :) While surfing the posts, i found the Panerai and i like its simplicity and vintage look So i started looking for a simple model, hand-winded, with seconds hands and w/o the date; this should be my first step into this category, so i prefer to make it with the less $$ to just taste the watch before getting deeper and getting another (as many of you suggest here), that is why i found myself between the 2 PAMs, 005 and 111 And based on what i got from your posts; I like the so-called "Sandwich" dial of the 111 over the painted dial Finally, i am still waiting for your valuable suggestions based on my needs Thanks a lot |

I personally prefer the 05. The sandwich dial is awesome but to me the logo is unique and gives the watch that little something extra. In the end it comes down to what you like and how many PAMs you plan on adding to your collection. I have several with the sandwich dial so the 111 offers me nothing different.

Thanks all
Actually, i called my AD yesterday and they told me they do have the 104 and the 112, they don't have the 111 and it is not on their roadmap The guy tried to convince me about the 112, honestly speaking, i like it also but was not sure about my ability to live without the seconds hands (if that is the only difference between the 111 and the 112) I noticed that some of the guys here on this forum, prefer the 112 over the 111, am i right? Any idea that could help me with my selection? Thanks |

i bought the 112 specifically because it didnt have seconds; in my opinion, a much cleaner look.
