Don’t know if they have a Facebook page but if they do and it allows comments that’s always a good starter for 10 companies hate it if you put anything slightly negative of their FB page

Never heard of them but “bunch of clowns” seems a fitting description. The first thing that popped into my head was, are these the UK equivalent of Turdneau ??

Its RRP is £6,200.

Is it worth an email back to the clowns’ spokesman?

One might also ask him why he puts question marks after statements, as if he doubts himself. He possibly hopes you are well, but isn’t sure?

Edit : Nairn and I obviously saw the problem here with contemporary ease!
Yep, and they’re not alone. Pawn shops seem bad for this kind of thing too, but Chisholm Hunter really take the mickey.

The dialogue with them is ultimately pointless. The phrase that comes to mind is “pis*ing against the wind”

I disagree; we should persist until they correct themselves or are forced to do so.

As for the U.K. pawnbrokers, I sit on their trade council (NPA) and run four myself. Feel free to send me any examples of incorrect price claims that you see. I’ve spotted some “at it” but try to keep on top of them.

I think we should all email them telling them the public watch forums are posting about their lying and despicable ways. Make them paranoid, nobody likes being flamed online for all to see.

I've emailed back seeking further clarification.

I may well be at The Fort tomorrow so we'll see if they have rectified the error.

If not and if time allows it I may make an enquiry with them in person...

TBH, the vintage world is no different. Mis-matched hands, wrong dials, every black Daytona is a Patrizzi, 'unpolished' despite toothpick thin lugs......Not everyone has the good fortune to part of TRF and be able to use the incredible knowledge here. Businesses like the aforementioned use that for their own gain. Better to try and get interest from local paper/radio etc. about their dealings.

Thank you for your response.

May I suggest you amend the display to state the price you are selling the watch for rather than the RRP as I'm sure you aware that the figure stated of £7,500 is well in excess of the actual RRP. If you need confirmation of this it is accessible on rolex.com

In addition, I think the term "collectible" is misleading as this implies scarcity, uniqueness or perhaps vintage, none of which applies to this particular model. I would argue that the pre ceramic submariner would be more accurately described as such.

Some nicely described “gems” at the Livingston store.

That Exp 2 with the Awful Bezel has been there way over a year and I love their “Day Date” models lol

What did they want for the Daytona in the background?? $20,000??? If the ceramic GMT is “collectible” that Daytona must be unicorn.

Regarding the 2nd and 3rd watch, since when did a Daydate have a date but no day? Lol.....

I used to take a walk though the Argyll Arcade once a month but now it's hardly worth it - same old rubbish. No Ss models & guff in pre-owned at high prices
