Trade: DD 228235 and an ROC black Panda
Hello, I'm looking for some opinions on this potential trade: DD 22835 RG Brown Motif Dial and an AP ROC SS Black Panda dial (latest model) for a Platinum DD40 Blue Motif dial.
Current collection: SS Daytona ceramic white dial 16610 Sub DD40 RG AP ROC I wear the DD when I go out or to fancy events. I daily the other three in a rotation, if I made this trade I would go down to three vs four and wear the Platinum daily in a rotation with the sub and Daytona. My hesitation ok the trade is giving up two great watches vs one amazing watch. I guess it's a decision between Quality vs quantity ? if someone could post some pictures that would be great 👍 I don know how to add them to a thread. (Newbie)

While I'm usually hesitant to trade two for one, the Platinum DD is truly magnificent. That's my grail.
I would consider it if I'm not out any cash; especially since I'd be getting rid of an AP. While I'm sure they are nice watches, I personally don't like the looks of them. For me, there isn't an AP you could give me unless I could sell it and get another Rolex. But that's just me. . . . I've been wrong before.

I’d do it. Make sure you like that platinum though because it is HEAVY. I was going to buy a PT DD40 a couple of years ago. The same blue dial but for some reason it just didn’t sing to me when I tried it on. Oddly enough, the Platona made its self the clear winner and I got it instead.
Nice collection btw.

I'd do it too...with the qualifications that you're not crazy about the RG anymore and that you're good with wearing the DD in your daily rotation.
I sure would be, that is one of my grails. |

Here goes;
The issue with the PT DD 40 would not really be felt until you have extended wear time. The weight itself is wonderful at first..... however because there is no easy link the issue will be either a too tight or too loose feel. For example during cold temp it slides under the cuff and at times feels awkward. Had this issue on my MP but not so much on the Platinum Daytona with the EZ link. The RG DD would probably not look too amazing on your fair skin tone hence why I too would recommend the DD 40 WG Olive as it would be a great match. The ROO has that great dial which everyone loves but the tang buckle on that particular reference seems to separate the strap around the pin holes and looks messy. Never understood the pin buckle on the newer ROO as great fitment without stretching the strap holes is a challenge on it’s own. So I would sell the DD and the ROO to fund the WG DD40 and perhaps pick up the LVc to pair with it reducing your wear and tear on your SS Sub LN. |

Totally agreed with Steve! I find the PT thou nice but after a while as a daily beater it does get a bit heavy. I think the WG/YG/RG weight MUCH more comfortable (bearable) as a daily watch. The PT Daytona does wear better not just because of the "easy link" but the case size of the Daytona is smaller than the DD40. That DD40 60th anniversary olive colour dial on the WG is one of the best combination ever for the daydate series. |

Trade
No way. The rose gold dd is stunning and to give up a roc on top makes it a bad trade in my books.

Fluted bezel is core to the DD in my book. White, rose or yellow. No platinum for me. Platinum is for the Daytona.

I’d do it You definitely get used to the PT weight after a couple minutes. The PT DD is a gorgeous watch...you’ll be spoiled
