Wow! So many helpful points made here, thank you to all. I think I will be going with the Yachtmaster for a few reasons.

First, I love the black sub but I am just afraid after a while I am going to see someone with the YM and regret not getting it. The YM just has that little bit of extra presence that really pops and I think I will really miss that with the sub. Second, looking at the prices that the 16622 typically go for, I think I can pick up a really nice one for a little less than a sub and hey I can always use the money saved to pick up something like a used Breitling Avenger ii GMT with a black face if I want a more subtle watch in addition to the YM. I simply do not see as many yachtmasters, and being my first love, I want to dare to be different and stand apart from the crowd just a tad.
