UPDATE:
The watch is now devoid of stickers and I have kind of learned to love it again without being precious about it. Actually, when Rolex in London agreed to polish out the small dent/ding for me for £50, they did a great job - it took 2 weeks and the ding has gone without trace, but they returned it with a few light scratches on the caseback. Apparently when they do a refurb of the case as part of a full service they take more care to keep it pristine, but when they only do a part-job then they don't bother. But I am delighted with what they did. They light scratches that they made on the back actually made it easier for me to wear and forget. And I've learned to like wearing the watch again - having read about how secondhand prices for Rolex has shot up I am so glad that it got rejected by the pawnbroker jeweller that I took it to when I was thinking of selling 2 years ago. |
