Polished AP? Yes/no?

I'm wondering what's your policy on polished AP RO that's been polished outside the service center? Is it a no-go? Why?

If I were to get mine polished, I would only let AP do the work. It’s hard to keep the proper lines. And it only gets harder and harder with multiple attempts. But just my opinion.

why even polish. Let time be etched on the metal and not just the dial. ...woah... where did those profound words suddenly come from? ....haha

would you like to fly an airline that sends their planes to a boat mechanic when they need servicing?

Same principle

No for me. And that goes for servicing of any parts internally not done by AP.

Zero chance. Nobody can replicate the finish on these like AP themselves. Don't touch it.

Generally no way. There certainly are individuals outside of AP who I think could do the work (beau at LAWW) but best to leave it to AP in case you're unhappy with the result for any reason.

I wouldn't even have AP polish. I like a little character on my watches.

only AP for polish and service. They have very reasonable prices and quick turnaround times with 2 year warranty and a nice leather travel case. why not use them?

I wouldnt buy and AP that has been polished by someone other than AP too easy to destroy the lines of the watch. I dont even like buying used APs for fear they have been polished at all.

Was it here that we had someone have their AP polished by was it Watchfinder? Think it came out well, altho they are now linked officially to AP.

I'm a big fan originality so I would say no re-polish APSC or not.

If for some reason it was an absolute must, then APSC only.

It’s hard to maintain the line of the watch and bracelet for a non AP polish

ABSOLUTE NO! Remember you get what you pay for. If polished by some random watch maker the piece couldve also been opened at some point for all we know so I’d stay away

Never. Why would you buy a watch that has been polished outside of AP? To polish that watch someone had to open it and disassemble the case. Would you trust other than AP to do such thing? I wouldn't. Plus AP has a special polishing machine with an inverted set up that allows for them to recut and redo the chamfers as they came out of the manufacture.

If the non-AP polisher worked for many years at AP, then maybe.

Otherwise only AP.
