Incoming.....and outgoing......

Picked this up Friday.

Wore it Saturday, and realized the chrono stopped while I was grilling.

Gave it a full 40 winds and it got to working again. I had the chrono and my Iphone stopwatch going side by side for hours. Worked fine so I deactivated the chrono.

Later on in the day I check the time and it says 7:01..... it was 7:45.

This morning it still says 7:01........

I would return it, but it’s near impossible picking up a 26405CE Blue. Me and the dealer have a great relationship, he offered a return immediately but I’d rather keep it. The CE model is low production so I wouldn’t know when I would get one again. Never dealt with Clearwater, but I’ve heard great things and hoping all is well.

Does it really matter what time it says?

Same thing happened to me with my 26400IO. Clearwater will have it back on your wrist in about 3-4 weeks.

That’s good news.
Hopefully my IO won’t crap out on me while I wait for the CE

same thing happened to my RG 44. Full service under warranty and then flipped it.

Don't know what is going on, but it seems to happen right away when brand new or not at all.

Clearwater staff is great. Given them a call, they will take very good care of you and get the watch back perfect.

Damn, sorry to hear. I've been reading about this happening to many others. Both the Chrono and time only models. I'd find it very frustrating to have to get a brand new watch serviced. I know AP service is very good and quick but that doesn't fully make up for the fact that your brand new watch stopped working.

Keep us posted on the service and results when you get it back.

Lately it seems like AP needs to take the watchmakers in Clearwater and have them train the ones in La Brassus. The issues seem to be with new watches but after a quick service by APSC Clearwater the issues are resolved and don’t reappear.

I find it very strange that AP has been using the DD module since the early 90s and if there were widespread issues with the design they would have changed the design by now. The problems seem like it’s more of the late I and J series.

It's a bad feeling when a new watch has issues like this! I had the same problem with my 44 steel back in august. Turn around time should be about 4 weeks as long as the parts are available. When I sent mine in they were on back order. I was told their master watch maker was repairing the module instead of replacing but the paper work from the service said the module was replaced. Still not sure what was actually done, but no issues since so I'm happy!

At least it’ll still read the correct time twice a day.

1, geesh the 44 is BIG! 2, Clearwater service center is awesome, Betsy rocks and you will get it back probably faster than they tell you. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.

You are a very lucky man if the watchmaste repair and oiled your module then change it! Believe me this is what AP need to do of every 3126/3840 movement but they just replace the module and if the new module stay a long time the oil lose his quality and problems apear again...
