In terms of cleaning, use the same stuff you would use to clean glasses - lint free cloth. Patek will also give you gloves/cloth to do this as well if you ask them.
In term of winder - that depends, the 5712 does have the moonphase so it will be a pain to set if you let it die, so if you have a lot of pieces to rotate i would say it's worth it. Just make sure you have a good winder. |

Best to wear in rotation with others so you can select the right times to wear it.

I would mentally prepare for scratches if you plan to use it. Had mine for over a year and yes, some small scratches have been unavoidable.
I use soft eyeglass cleaning wipes. |

I use hand soap, water and a soft toothbrush for cleaning. Looks fantastic afterward.
For winders, I use a relatively inexpensive Wolf and it works like a charm. |

take lots of wristies and post them here. Constant wrist shots and then people judging them teaches wrist awareness better than anything else... you dont want to be the guy with the ugly 5712 around here.

This for cleaning overall. And by soft toothbrush, aim for an infant tooth brush. However, you can really just do it with your fingers (yes yes that's what she said) and soap as well...just make sure you dry with a microfiber lens cloth and Id also (in the effort of being anal retentive) go in the direction of the grain on the bezel finish (up or down) when cleaning that part.

I clean my watches with WristClean (Veraet) and I’m very happy with the results.

Another happy Wristclean user. However I don't love the brush I got from them and prefer to use a little wider one that is just as soft.

Put it in the safe and never touch it again! A Patek is not a right watch for someone that is so worried about scratches etc.
