New to the forum, Hello from Michigan

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum but not so much to owning a Rolex. I didnt know much about the models or history when i got my first one. I just knew i wanted a Rolex.

Right out of college, i spent my first couple pay checks on a new 1999 SS Submariner Date. Wore it for many years. Until the Ceramic version came out. By then my bezel was worn a bit and i really liked the ceramic look but i still couldnt justify selling it to fund a purchase of a new ceramic model.

Fast forward to last year...I went for it and grabbed a new SS Sub-C Date from the local AD. I was about to get a black GMT II but i didnt like the middle parts of the bracelet polished. Well i didnt wear my Sub-C too much last year. Literally only a small handful of times, a few nice dinners, a couple weddings, literally about 10 times if that. Not sure why but over the last couple years ive been more into a simple casio gshock or my Shinola Runwell.

Being the impulsive buyer that i am, i was flipping thru a watch catalog in a hotel room on a trip overseas. I saw the BLNR and loved it. The polished middle of the bracelet grew on me and the black/blue bezel just looked so cool. Got back home and visited my AD this past november but he didnt have any and didnt know when he would get another. Left my name and number and said please call if u get one. I didnt know that there is a draught with some models, that they were hard to get or had waiting lists. I not that into the watch scene to know this. So i figured, while i like my AD ill call around to the rest in my area and grab one from them. I couldnt find one in michigan or in the Chicago area. Yesterday my AD dealer called said they got a BLNR in and i ran over and grabbed it.

So here i am, i found the forum because i was searching how people set the 2 or 3 time zones on the GMT. Now i have a big problem. Do i sell the Sub-C Date or do i keep it and share my wrist with both models...

Welcome. If you don’t wear the sub-c sell it. Personaly I once owned a sub-c and found it to be the least comfortable Rolex I ever owned and ended up selling it. My daily watch is usually my GMT coke. I feel GMT ‘s are the most practical watches there is, multiple time zone, date and you can take it diving as well... congrats on your new blnr.
