Weight and Comfort 126600 43mm SD

hello,
I am new to the forum. I have always liked the Rolex Sub, but never pulled the trigger because I thought it was small at 40mm. Now I have an opportunity to buy a 43mm SD from my AD. Quite a lot of money at US $11.35k, but I like the watch a lot. I have read all the forums and thoughts on it.

My main concern is comfort and wearability. I own a 42mm Breitling Navitimer on a metal pilot bracelet from 1995. I find I never wear it as the band is not that comfortable. I had the bracelet made very loose..so when my wrist is cold, the watch spins around, and when hot, I end up unclasping. I ended up putting a leather strap on, but still wear infrequently.

I also own a 44mm Panerai. I just put a RubberB on that watch, but still find it a little annoying. Either the rubber grabs wrist hair, the head of the watch is too heavy and the Panerai Tang buckle annoys the thin sensitive skin on my wrist/veins. I know you guys now think I am nuts. I bought a Panatime flat tang spring tang buckle and it is much better.

Lasty, I own a Casio Protrek. This is my go to watch. Sleep, shower, gym...always on my wrist. Sets itself to the atomic clock and is a really good "time piece". But sometimes I feel like a math nerd high school student.

So weights (with bands for my 7" wrist)
Casio Protrek - 82 grams
Breitling Navitimer with Pilot bracelet - 143 grams
Panerai 44mm on RubberB - 146 grams

And I believe the Sub weighs like 155 grams and the 43 SD weighs in at 180 grams....hence my dilemma. I don't want to buy an $11k paperweight.

Thoughts?

Sea Dweller weight

Hi mate did you get anywhere with this? I’ve had my SD43 in a box for a couple of months now as wasn’t sure whether To keep it or not. I’ve recently started to wear it here and there to see how I get on with the weight. It’s definitely heavier than my no date Sub!

My older Breitling Seawolf avenger is a lot heavier than the sd43 and I changed that to a strap. Early days still with the SD, I don’t really want to keep both SD and sub so I will continue to wear it this week. I’m not exactlly small, 7.75inch wrist standard, bigger when warmer and used to be a power lifter! , BUT the sub felt more like a bracelet and I never felt it on me. Maybe I just need to get used to things :)
