... I've finally caved in. Hell, I won the Fleabay auction for just US$29.99:

The funny thing is that the shipping will be four times the price!

Ah well, with four automatic watches, and now finding myself switching regularly between three of them, it was only a matter of time before I pulled the trigger on one of these things.

Powered by mains. They use "fuzzy logic", with three different turning routines. I always have mine on 100 seconds to the left - rest 300 seconds - then 100 seconds to the right. The watches keep almost perfect time on the winder!

Thanks for the firsthand info, Allan! I really wasn't sure what I was getting for my money. Anyway, I've emailed the seller to ask how much extra he charges for a 220V adaptor instead of the usual 110V, and once he gets back to me I'll close the deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the product description states that it can also run on two D-size batteries.

Daren, as always, is astute in his observations. Now what shall I get to fill up that last spot ... ?

Maybe I can talk Sash into accepting an automatic watch, although she's already said that she doesn't like the Lady Sub or Lady Date.

Ed, I don't think I'll have to wait that long. The moment I put in my first bid, I was looking forward to not having to reset my watches again!

Ehh, I'm going to wait till the SS comes out with a Triplock, I think. It's a JJ thing, but I've tried the GMT out and it just doesn't feel right to me.

I bought that same winder a couple of months back on ebay too. It run me like $38 and the shipping was $40. I was not expecting much but I have to say for $80 dollars it is not too bad. It runs off of 110v or two D batteries. The worksmanship is actually really good for the price. I do suspect thought that Steelfish will kill it in a matter of time.

Especially since it tips the scale at 8.0 oz. = half pound of watch.
