Help needed: availability of Milgauss GV in Melbourne?

Hello everyone - I've been looking to buy the Milgauss GV for some time now but am not willing to pay the exorbitant premium that retailers in Singapore are demanding. I now have the chance to get one in Melbourne, Australia at the end of this month so I'd be grateful for any information on where to go and what price I should expect to pay.

Thanks very much in advance.

The Hour Glass in Melbourne had 2 on display 3 weeks ago when I was in there buying my Submariner. I'm not sure about the current stock status though.

There are 3 AD's in Melbourne.
1. The Hour Glass www.thehourglass.com (Easily my 1st preference, very good customer service, stock and knowledge)
2. LK Jewelry http://www.lkjewellery.com/ (Smaller store, just 1 or 2 sales people. Generally not as much stock, but quite personal service as you are usually the only person in the store)
3. Grima www.grima.com (Newest AD that just opened. Have not been in myself, but have spoken to sales people over the phone and via email. Seem quite nice. They would be easiest to contact for you, as you can just email them. I would do this and email them asking what the MSRP for the Milgauss is. It will be the same price for the other 2 stores too)

In terms of discounting, you can expect 5% straight away (on a submariner, not sure with Milgauss), 8% straight away with cash and around 10% with further negotiation. This is for SS models. I am not sure about discounting for TT or 18k watches (I think they are about 10% straight away). This applies to all 3 stores, which I have discovered from personal experience.

I haven't seen any watches charged at a premium at THG. All have been at MSRP.

Demand for a watch has a big effect on your discounting ability. The Submariner is quite highly demanded especially in Melb, and that is why they couldn't do better than 8% cash. Seeing 2 Milgauss' on display makes me question the level of demand for this model in Melbourne, but I think you should be able to get some sort of discount off the MSRP. I'm not 100% sure on this though

The Hour Glass or any other AD in Australia has not had to my knowledge any GV Milguass on display. Most, if not all, AD's have waiting lists for the GV.

No problem getting the black or white dial Milgauss, sure they are on display, but the GV I would be very very surprised if that was so even to see one, but two would be unheard of.

A couple of months ago when I asked at the Hour Glass for a GV Milgauss, they wouldn't even give me a time frame. Even then you couldn't just buy a GV from THG, buy you had to buy it as part of a 'family' purchase: i.e. at least 2 or more watches.

What is the difference between them?

If it's the green glass....I definitely saw at least 1 on display. I can even recall the place it was in the displace case, was right beneath the Sub without date, which was next to the Sub with date I was buying, in the Right hand display case if you are walking towards the back of the store where the Rolex clock is. If I knew they were so rare, I would have asked to hold it and try it on!

Hi, I live in Melbourne and I've looked for the GV Milgauss without success. I know for a fact that Grima can't get any and its at least 6mth wait for one. Hour glass don't have any and the store at Crown Casino had a white face one about a month ago.

You might try Monards as well (I know they have a white face SS daytona right now - I bought a black face ss daytona from them about 3 months ago) BUT be prepared to spend $$$ for the priviledge!

Not quite. Our forum owner Steve (lol-x) bought a GV from Grima a couple of months ago.
BTW, saw a bluesy, nd sub, SS GMT2c, SS white face daytona and a SS YM on display at LK (casino AD) today.

You should take a trip up to KL. If I'm not mistaken, there is no VAT for watches in Malaysia so it might be a bit cheaper. I was offered the Milgauss GV a week back but I'm not interesed in it at the moment as I've set my eyes on the something else. It's still available at THG as the THG Sales Manager showed it to me today when I picked up my SD this afternoon. I can't remember the price though but if you're interested, PM me and I'll check it out with THG.
