Prices on the rise

Just left an AD here with a SD 4000. $6500 and supposedly 2 years wait on the DeepSea. That's a little over $1500 difference from what I noticed a couple years ago. Oh well, if they want that kinda cash for that I'll hold out for the new model.

The DSSD is available in my local AD. It's not exactly selling like hotcakes over as the premium is very high. Given the current economy, I think most will prefer to wait it out till the price drops to a more reasonable level.

2 year wait?????? My man, they can't give these away in Southern California. I've been offered 4 in the last few weeks from various AD's in Los Angeles. I'm sure they are all over Florida.......check down south in Miami.

Barstoolman...help a brother out! I've been calling all over SoCal for months now just trying to see this watch in person so I can make a final decision once & for all, yet no joy.

Just yesterday I did another round of calls to another 7 different Rolex ADs in my general area (I'm not really in the mood to drive 2 hours to check out this watch...but willing to drive up to an hour) and sure enough each AD said the same thing, "Sorry, still no DSSD in yet, we should have one within a few days or weeks." I keep hearing how plentiful they are in SoCal, yet my experience has proven the opposite.

I'm almost to the stage where I'm just going to stop looking...if I run across one, great, but I'm not holding my breath and going to stop trying to hunt one down. Cheers.

I see you beat me to the punch. Yep, I agree. God knows I've put in some hours/calls for a while now and have yet to track one down...and I can honestly say it has not been from lack of effort. I've been close...but everytime I get wind one is in a showroom, sure enough by the time I call the rep tells me the same thing, "Sorry, we just sold the watch...but hopefully getting another one in before the end of the year."

I've had 2 calls on DSSD. Your AD is sniffing model airplane glue. That list will get mighty short once they start making calls.

2 years wait? Maybe you can pull some strings and get it faster. In 2 years you may as well want something else by then.
