Alternative straps for a Polar Explorer.
I’ve got a Black Dial 16570 that I do not have the bracelet for and which I wear almost daily on a black rubber Everest strap and its quite simply my favourite watch, more so than either of my Subs (14060m & 114060).
I have recently bought another 16570, this time a Polar on a bracelet and I’d like to put this watch into my rotation. I’m not really a bracelet guy and are looking at alternatives. I’m reluctant to get another Everest as I don’t think black would suit a white dial and I’m not keen on the other available colours. I’m therefore thinking about NATO’s and maybe a leather option. Anyone have any suggestions and even better pictures. Thanks.

My black dial 16570 is my favourite watch, on a dark blue Everest. But I covet a Polar too as the proportions of the 16570 are what make it the one for me. I’d probably put it on a straightforward khaki green NATO but always on the lookout for decent bruised up leather ones too.
Good purchase. I’m jealous. But Good for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just picked this up yesterday. I’ve never put a NATO on a Rolex before but I have been looking for a well-worn 16570 on which to do so. I’m very happy with the result. The will be the first Rolex which I will actually wear like a sport watch. Had the gaskets replaced and sealed but NO polishing.

I’ve always liked that watch on the army green NATO.

I've never been a NATO fan because of the folded excess strap on the outside of the wrist. Recently started using Barton ballistic nylon straps on my Ranger and Explorer II. They come in a range of colors--solids and stripes.
