BLNR in Miami

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm trying to locate a BLNR from an AD in the UK however despite being on many waiting lists I'm not to hopeful I'm gonna source one in time for my silver wedding. Everyone I've spoken to here pretty much just giggles and tells me that Id be better hunting for a unicorn!!

My wife is headed to Miami for a week in May and I've e-mailed the ADs there to check availability (I'm hoping its better there) but as yet I've not had any replies.
Two questions for my stateside friends (or anyone that can help)

1. What is the availability like in Miami? Will I be able to walk in to the store and simply buy one?
2. What is the retail price? Please include any state sales tax

Thanks in advance

Might be better off buying the new one DavidSw has. He's in Orlando. Maybe she can take a side trip to pick it up for you. Or he might be able to arrange to have it shipped to where she is staying.

Availability seems scarce. I recently grabbed one from him and paid the premium. One of my local AD's had a 40 person list. Another AD had seven people on their list with paid deposits.

good luck. congrats on the silver wedding.

Cold Calls

I cold called ADs a couple months ago and found one on my third call. I wouldn’t say this is definitely the answer but grey market resell value was higher than which would indicate to me that if you did it now you would run into one. Focus on Mom and Pops not big corporate giants. I think you’ll find one.

David SW is also a great option!!! All the best.

Even if your wife did find one, she would, by law need to declare it upon entering the UK and pay full VAT.

Not declaring is evasion and not worth the risk.

Puts the price way over even UK grey dealer prices.

I’m amazed people don’t know about the very small VAT free limit when returning to the UK from outside the EU.

I’m sure the limit is £390. Anything over that is liable to VAT.

Sadly ignorance isn’t a defence when/if caught

Absolutely nothing against DavidSW but this isn’t great advice for someone from the UK. David’s price works out £8,600 (UK RRP is £6550).

After VAT that’s an eye watering £10,300 for a BLNR (almost $14,000)

I’m not slating anyone for giving the advice but just be mindful of exchange rates and UK VAT.

Going the route you recommend could sting him badly.
