Explorer II - "Swiss" or "Swiss Made" ? Fake or real?
I have a White Explorer II white face - style 16570, S# A335XXX - and on the bottom it has "Swiss", but most website sites on fake ID techniques and image examples I see are "Swiss Made" not just "Swiss". In all other aspects this watch checks out but this one issue bothers me. Does anyone know if this designation is correct?

Thanks for the advice thus far. The link GTBIKE72 posted was helpful as not only did it show a "Swiss" designation but that the watch on the site was listed as from 1999 manufacture... which was what the shop told me but that I did not list on the original question. I bought the watch in Hong Kong at a store that was a reference from a friend who has about 20 Rolex watches and the price was $3000.
More info… I told the watch to the HK Rolex center at Jardine House for authentication and after 30 minutes they said that they had taken it apart and that since the serial number was not a watch that was originally sold in HK that they’d have to ask Geneva to validate. As such, they wouldn’t go on written record that it was “real” but they told me that the back was off, the movement was examined and that there was nothing that “looked” out of place. I asked if they would tell me if there was anything that was clearly wrong and they said yes. They offered to keep it until November 19th when the Swiss data will be back but I fly out tomorrow. They then resealed the watch and water tested it, all this for free. |

(markers n hands still luminous in the dark) ...the first series of Luminova Dials... similar to the other sport Rolex watches of that era...1999. That would be synonymous from early A series until A 4xx,xxx or Mid series or so... From then onwards...i.e. end 1999 or early 2000...all Dials would be produced to have "SWISS MADE"... denoting...the SuperLuminova luminous markers n hands... So all looks fine...also. |

...DEFINITELY, a GREAT price...
...for a GOOD looking watch.
...I really like my EXP II, as it is NOT as top heavy as my 2T 16613 Sub. ...GREAT purchase. Stan. |

All,
Thank you very much for your good advice and comments. I was pretty sure that I'd made a great buy (the hidden upside to global financial turmoil I guess...) and the help of this forum confirmed it. Your counsel was very much appreciated and on my next trip to HK maybe another Rolex will be on the shopping list! |

Yes, any exII will not have any luminova on hands (anything that actaully glows in the dark), when the flip-lock clasp was made smaller on the exp2, rolex apprently added superluma to the hands and the markers, older models hour markers were supposed to glow but decreased in intensity over the years. Seems that A, P, K were still not using superluma and some dials may have had "Swiss" only dial inscription, from Y and up supernova was used and out of all the expII's ive seen from Y and up, glow in the dark issues are non existent.
