Novelties

Well I wasn’t expecting anything special on their sport range this year, was mistaken, the 5740 is amazing, if the blue is really like on the pics it is a killer looking watch.
I read that the clasp is not the same as other Nautilus models, anyone who can confirm that? And how it is? Is it the same as the Aqua clasps?
About the Aqua 5968 I can’t say I like the look much, the dial is what color? Dark purple it seems but not sure, not sure the orange hands are the best mix. But like always you need to see it in real as it must change a lot, at least PP gave it’s clients what they wanted, an Aqua chrono was in the wish list of many here.
The RG pilot is nice but prefer the G, but the 5205G with blue dial seems sweet.
Also a few nice ones in GC section, like the blue dial 5207, but not in my price range

Clasp does not appear to be like aqua,

Aqua has a spring steel that didn’t hold up very well in my experience.

Actually from pics it looks more like AP jumbo clasp with bush buttons on the side.

I also saw a 5711 nautilus novelties with a cream/“salmon” dial on IG.

Clearly not Aqua, looks great and yes a little like AP from the looks of it.
Thanks Gus

Think Patek have had a great Basel, lots of strong additions esp at the GC end, and avoided the temptation of a SS Nautilus.

I personally am a bit disappointed. The models they revealed are fine and all but nothing in the non-sport non-GC range.

I was hoping for a replacement annual calendar chronograph, one thinner than the 5960.

That is the 5711 white gus. I am 99.9% sure having owned it the dial takes on that effect all the time

Poor colour balance on the camera, with perhaps some weird colourcast from his surroundings.
If you look at the area beneath the minute hand, you can see the truer colour of the dial.

Nice looking clasp. Let's see if it filters down the line without any announcement, or if they keep the older clasp since it's in different materials.

After having each, imho Both nautilus and aquanaut were in need of clasp upgrade.

More a question of when than if.

I think the new clasp is generally better for the aquanaut, but I'm not convinced for the nautilus. The pieces extruding from the side breaks up the clean/simple look of the previous one.

Well I would need to see in real to be sure, the actual clasp is kind of crappy, can’t say otherwise, but it is super thin, doesn’t come out on the sides, and a big plus is that as hard as it is to open, the harder it will be for some guy trying to steal your watch without you noticing, when you see how some guys are really pros at this, the actual clasp is a real plus security wise, you can imagine coming home to find out you don’t have you 5740 anymore, bummer.
Anyways I really love the 5740 and the 5270P, as much as I love Nautilus models, and the 5740 is awesome, the blue looks incredible, I think if I had the funds for one, I would get the 5270, liked the G in blue, but the P in salmon is insanely hot and desirable IMO, even if it is not the kind of model I am usually attracted to, I am quite in love with this one.

The problem is that before seeing the video, I didn’t realize at what point the watch is hot, I really need to switch my priorities, until now I was more into medium long term investments and work, real estate mostly, but with the 5270P, 5740 and RM 035 black toro, 3 watches I am seriously in love with, a drastic change is needed in order for me to get them before I am 70, anyone here specialized in robbing banks who could teach me?

I'm OK now with the sticky clasp and I like the smooth lines, I have the 64 so one push style clasp is enough for me.
