It’s 100% genuine. Y serial, 2 tick dial, thin hands, 78490 bracelet/clasp.
Lovely example. |

Unless you open it, you will never know. Have it inspected by a proper jeweler who actually knows Rolex watches.

I'm no expert but looks good to me. I'd definitely have it opened up though.

I think these ARE The Kind Of Photos We Need To See When Someone is Questioning Authenticity. (plus some side views maybe?)
Well Done.... |

I too am keen to know why "juniorlawrence" states "not real IMO" and then seems to vanish?
Comments like this which are completely unjustified should be banned IMO ... |

Even if it looks good from outside, you don't know if the movement is correct. Best option is goto Rolex or AD and ask for appraisal. It costs $100 (that's what my AD charged) for authentication and appraisal and you'd be able to insure ur watch as well. This will give u a peace of mind, else you'll have that slight suspicion in ur mind all the time and it'll drive you crazy. At least this is what happens in my case.
BTW, its a beautiful watch. |

IMO fakes of Daytona are so good pictures like this will not tell the real story. the reason "I" questioned it was due to the SEL fit. That is all. People who post in this section most likely didn't buy their watch at an AD, and some are trying to see if it will pass the smell test (not saying the OP here is). Make sense. (Oh and sorry no offence to the OP, but if you are actually based in Thailand and you are buying the watch in Thailand and its not from an AD, I wouldn't touch it). |

Why did you put “I” in quotes? Is someone else advising you on this? |

Interesting. But, no rule against casual claims to a watch being real. Both are dangerous. And without opening, even with reasons for claims, no one here can be 100% certain.

I agree that it is wisest to take it somewhere to have it opened. Even if the outside looks good in photos, it is possible it could be housing a non-Rolex movement. You got a good start and good info by asking here, but the next step is to have it opened by a watchmaker. Have them tell you their opinion, but also get photos of the movement and between the lugs if you can to post here so that we can affirm or refute the opinion of the person who opened the watch for you. Cheers.
