You can buy it immediately from one of the grey market sellers in the Classified Section on this forum if you are willing to pay the 50% premium over MSRP that they are charging.

Get the 116519LN white gold oysterflex from the AD and put your name on the list for the 116500LN. Sell one or keep both when your number is up.

Not worth the time if you haven't already been put in position at your AD or a top customer. Just pick up secondary or pre-owned.

I suggest you put your name on every single AD's list in the country... then once they do finally contact you...let me know so as I can personally verify and pick it up as your proxy!!!

Check out airport ADs, if you travel internationally. As always, be very positive and polite when you’re talking with the staff. I think that sometimes the rare pieces will appear if they like you.

I would wait for an AD to give you one. Yes, it will take forever but if you only buy from greys and never establish a relationship with an AD, you will be facing this situation every time you want a highly coveted watch. Some will say just pay the premium and get it now.

If you can't wait it's better buying something else from the AD even if you sell it just to start a relationship. Better than just giving away $7k to someone. Maybe look at buying a 116520 instead and wearing that while you wait.

hang on to your $ if u do not want to feed the grey. Sooner or later when nobody is paying enough premium to the grey they will eventually have to stop hoarding the Daytonas. it’s your choice to be sucker or get another watch with the same value. The extra $ that your gonna throw into the greys pocket can be used for a nice holiday trip instead

Personally I would just start buying other watches that you love and building that solid relationship. That may not guarantee you a Daytona next day but at the very least it will:

1) get you onto a closed list
2) move you up the list if on one
3) be considered for new hard to get releases

At the same time you get to enjoy cool watches on your wrist while waiting for Daytona

I just can't fathom paying $7k-$8k over MSRP

This doesn’t answer your question directly, but if you want one now, they have them at Bob’s Watches if you don’t mind getting a recent used one. Bob’s isn’t the cheapest used dealer, but I had a great experience with them (admittedly for an Explorer II but they were very reliable and quick).
