What About a "Vintage" Line from ROLEX?

In response to some of the posts on the NEW SUPERCASE Watches....Yachtmaster II, DSSD, and DDII i feel they are too big for the average person, look out of scale with the old bands, and are too trendy.

What are your thoughts on Rolex re introducing the dials and hands of the watches from the 40s, 50s, 60s, the ornate hands and great dials are awesome....think how great a Paul Newman Daytona would be!

If you look at the bublebacks and the "Original PRINCE" WOW!

What do you think about a " Vintage" Line from Rolex?

Mixed feelings having a vintage oysterdate myself I like the fact that it is old, many of the watches can be worked on by watchmakers to keep them going just as well as when they were first produced. Vintage models, non sports, can often be picked up for reasonable money.
As you mentioned Rolex still make the Prince which is a nod to the past.

I like your idea. I also believe Rolex adjusted the lug width on the YM-II to be proportional to the increased case size, unlike the other ones you mentioned.

I like the idea and believe that it could potentially sell well (probably when the economy gets better). Some of the models I would like to see are : GMT 1675, Paul Newman Daytona and a Double Red Sea-Dweller. It will probably never happen, but I'm a dreamer !

Yea if you look at some of the vintage face and dial combos posted here from time to time they are stunning
