What in the world is this?

https://shop.burdeens.com/products/r...complete-set-2

This seems to be a sub not found in nature. Is this just the dial and bezel from a smurf frakensteined onto a regular steel SubC?

Or something else entirely?

Surely an aftermarket dial and insert. A few of these floating around on eBay.

Anytime you see “custom” Rolex, it’s not a good thing!

It appears there are at least some fake parts being used. No maxi-dial ever used tritium.

Interesting.

I am sure somebody on here has wondered what a SS sub would look like if you took the bezel insert and dial from another sub and installed it on the SS one.

So, there it is!

(Although those parts might be aftermarket in this case)

At least it's not green and trying to be passed off as something original

I saw a black faded bezel , just bezel no watch$3k on eBay, just what I was looking for. Don’t have any watch repair experience. But I’m gonna snap the ceramic off my 6 digit sub, and super glue, with my gooey finger prints all over it, the faded black one.then I’m gonna sell my ceramic bezel for $11k, and then I’m gonna take the $11k, and buy a new sub c date, to replace the one, I justed screwed up, if I can find one. I’m looking for a hobby, this should keep me busy for a while.

Ah, my mistake. Thought you just meant the color. Imagine the uproar over SS versus WG and countless threads about value, flippers, gray market dealers, scarcity at ADs, 5-year waiting lists, etc.

Midnight blue sunburst dial with a midnight blue bezel on SS would get my vote. The LB is a little bright for my tastes.
