That's stunning!! I'm hoping to get a 5712 but if that proves too difficult then I will have to spend more money and get my grail - the 5990!!

on tuesday i shall know whether i can have the 5990 now. the only thing that worries me is that getting the 5980/1R after would be a bit redundant, i will have to go the route 5980R instead.

thats crazy talk... that is my dream combo 5990 and 5980/1r. I would probably flip either my 5711 or 5712 to make it happen so i might, just not now as i really do like my current line up a lot, but it makes me think for down the road.

Congratulations - the 5990 is a top wearer for me as well and I look forward to the day of a blue dial offering.

I like all the proportions and I find the bezel edge to be a little thinner (than the 5711/26, like the aquanauts) which I think is nice.

P.S.: Patek is famous for it's minute repeaters, they are not thin by anyones definition that I know of:)

You are going to have both the RG bracelets? Not sure I've seen that here before, looking forward.

I love the 5980R but it has the same choco dial as the 5711r so I'd go for the black 5980/1r in this case.

I say don’t go 5980R, not sure if strap is the way to go with Nautilus

Thanks , is my top choice Nautilus for me , with the exception of the new Nauti perpetual but is way out of budget for me

Cheers

Beautiful. Love the color of that dial. And that pointer date really adds a bit of uniqueness to the dial as well. I have yet to see a Nautilus of any version in real life, so these pics are an inspiration.

Cheers,
Carl

i don't dislike it, but i prefer the all black dial of the 1R. Also not sure about the brown strap. Only because i already have a 5524 and i don't wear a lot of brown and that one is already hard to match.

well, my mail issue is the lack of comfort with the strap-deployant combo...

Some have found the 5980R a little top heavy and uncomfortable.
