While most of us would be un-willing to pay for such a premium, the early adopters are the ones who might be willing to pay such a premium. As to how much that premium is worth, remains to be seen.
I could be wrong, but interestingly, I've seen a few of the half and full gold root beers released, which my guess is that Rolex has no production issues rolling out half and full gold models, and intentionally "hold back" SS models. |

Indeed, looks like Rolex reduced production capacity of existing SS models to produce the new models.
