Has Anyone Send A Rolex In For Service Directly?

Without going through an AD?

I am curious what the steps would be; do you have to call first? Make an appointment?

Is there a laundry lists of services that are available or do they perform a general type service on all watches?

Just kind of thinking ahead a little. So, who has done this?

Call Vivian at rsc Dallas. She will send you a list of requirements for shipping. Send the watch US mail and insure the watch for replacement cost. I just got mine back Monday of this week. I sent it directly to the RSC not through AD. I think you will get it back quicker if you do it yourself. Mine took just about 4 weeks.

I've done it a couple times. You should call and talk to a cust service rep. He/she will give you the mailing instructions. They are very specific instructions and if you don't follow them, the box will be denied and returned to you.

Assuming you mail it correctly, when the box arrives at the RSC, they will check it into their system. At this point, if you were to call a cust service rep, he/she would be able to give you a general status.

The watchmaker will assess the watch and provide a cost estimate. A cust service rep will call you with a specific list of tasks to be completed and a cost. They will take your credit card but not charge it until the watch is shipped back.

Once you approve the work, they will commence work on it.

There isn't a laundry list of services. If you need something specific done you should state that in a note that you put in the box. Likewise, if you DO NOT want something done you should state that. For example, I know some people don't like to have their watch polished.

General service takes 4-6 weeks depending on the center's work load.

Once complete, the watch will be mail back to you.

Do they have a friendly drop off service there in Dallas?

I'd much rather drive over there to drop it off and pick it up.

in my experience. i live 10 kms away from toronto RSC. no appointment needed i just drop by. I'm already friends with the receptionists there because they see me every month. the best part of it is it's like you're in a dream world plus tons of swiss chocolate. if you have the time drop by there if they allow it and enjoy the experience

Just call RSC Dallas for hours of operation. I believe they close over Christams to New Years.

I called RSC in BH last year about servicing my watch. They briefly told me about the procedure, and told me to bring it in. I personally dropped off my watch. They said they would open it up and fax me an estimate of the cost, and a list of what needed to be done, before doing anything. I had just the "basic" service and a crown replacement, at a cost of about $540. I authorized the work, and then personally picked it up a few weeks later.

No "appointment" was ever needed. If I were mailing the watch, though, I would certainly let the RSC know it was coming, and ask for directions on how to ship it.

This is the way they tell you to "NOT" lable what you send. Call the RSC and ask for shipping details. I think if you lable your box with these addresses you wont be seeing your watch again...

Yeah. They make you ship to a company called "RUSA" and they're adamant that you do not put Rolex any where on the box.

I sent mine labeled RSC-SF by USPS registered/insured. Do not send Fedex or UPS.

I've never gone through my AD. I take my watches in to the Rolex Centre in Singapore where after a 5-10 min wait (depending on time of day and crowd) one of the counter staff then take the watch in to be assessed by the repair staff (the repair section works behind glass walls and so is entirely visible to everyone in the waiting area).

The assessment takes maybe 10-15 mins - you can actually see the serviceman open your watch and scrutinise it with his tools through the glass wall - after which I'm given a cost estimate. If I agree to the charges (it is usually inflated so the final cost is typically lower) then a receipt is issued and I'm told to return for collection in about 3 weeks.

Dallas RSC

I walked in to the Dallas RSC and dropped my wife’s TT Oyster off for a service last month with no problems. They were friendly, professional, and very accommodating. In addition to the service I asked to change the dial from the stock champagne to a blue. This wasn’t an issue either. They took the watch in the back and came out 30 minutes later with an estimate. Painless…

I've walked into the Dallas RSC and dropped it off without issue. How long will it take to get it back is a different story depending on what needs to be done.

Anyone have a Rolex missing or loss in the mailing process.

Even with abbreviated names (RUSA or RSC-SF) the carriers are probably able to figure out what is in the boxes; particularly if they are mailed to the "Rolex Building."
