"Military History" on this 5513...
I wanted to throw this one out there...the seller claims that the watch has "military history, given by Ministry of Interior" and "Caseback stamped with Military details":
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Vintage-Pr...mZ170280039448 The statements seem pretty presumptuous to me based solely on the caseback, which freakly could mean anything, e.g.: http://www.sdgfp.info/Wildlife/Diver...es/falcons.htm |

The caseback reads SD Falcons.
The USS Falcon was decommissioned in June 1946. I don't believe this is military markings on the caseback. I believe SD Falcons is some type of college, university or who-knows-what engraved on the caseback. I went to gradute school at the Univ. of South Dakota so I know it is not related to USD or SDSU (coyotes or jackrabbits). Maybe San Diego? Watch looks pretty decent though.

Hey Gents,
Could be some Footbal "sitch". Since played in the "SD" (Superdome) in November "1981",..... the "Falcons" (Atlanta) beat New Orleans (Saints). Thus: "SD Falcons 1981" ?? JMO.... p.s. T.C. looks familiar, no? |

Here is the seller's response regarding the "military history" of this watch.
Hi, I'm not in the military as I'm a collector & trader in fine watches. Got this watch sometime ago through a friend who got it from its original owner who served in the Saudi Military. As far as I know, SD Falcons was the name of a group served in the Saudi Military at that time, and some watches were given to the military members by the Saudi Ministry of Interior after finishing specific missions, name of its owner is engraved on case back as well. Unfortunately, no papers included to support that. Thank you. Seems odd to me that the language is not written in Farsi or whatever language is spoken there, as it is not English.

Saw that too. I'm out on this watch and not buying into its history.
