Rolex AD & RSC - Beverly Hills
Was out in L.A. on business, and decided to head over to Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive and walk around. While there, I stopped into a bunch of stores and tried on some amazing watches. IWC, Patek, Jaeger LeCoultre (Saw a Gyrotourbillon in action), Breguet, Vacheron Constantin, etc. Was a fun day of fantasizing about owning some of these superb pieces, and the sales people were more than happy to talk to me and show me whatever I wanted to see.
I arrived at the Rolex AD on Rodeo, and was chatting with the lovely sales lady there for a while. I was showing her the deep scratch I acquired on the bezel of my 126300 .....I was walking up stairs at the airport with luggage in my hands, and I heard a loud "CLANK" on the railing. I knew immediately what it was, and I got a pit in my stomach almost instantly. In retrospect I should be thankful that it wasn't worse (cracked crystal, damaged movement)!! Anyway I digress. I asked the sales lady (who I now have a crush on lol) what would be involved in polishing it or fixing it. She recommended taking a walk to the RSC on Wilshire Blvd, right around the corner from the AD. So I went there, and was talking to the watchmaker for a bit. (I didn't realize RSC's had walk-in service). He said the scratch is "fairly aggressive", and that it would not polish out. He said if I want to leave the watch with him, he could swap the bezel for a brand new one for $400 all in. That's a lot cheaper than I was expecting!! As tempting as it was, I decided to take the next piece of advice he gave me, which was to just live with it. He said "these things happen all the time, and it will not be the last scratch you get on the DJ41. Now it's part of your Rolex story, and I'd bet money that no one but you will notice it." So that's precisely what I'll do. All in all it was a fun day of kicking tires and chatting with some very knowledgeable horology experts. I ate lunch at a small cafe on Rodeo, then headed back to the hotel. Just thought I'd share. Have a great day everyone!! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

That replacement price sounds almost too good to be true...

From the picture the bezel doesn’t appear to be that badly damaged. At least now you know how much it’s cost to be replaced if you wanted to do that down the line.

I would use a Cape Cod polishing cloth on that scratch and I bet you wouldn't even notice it anymore.

Love that story, that RSC has taken care on me more than once they’re great. Oh and if you’re speaking of Geary’s omg I think some of the associates there are so hot we go in just to see them more than the watches lol

I didn't realize the RSC had walk ins here either. So do they not need to send stuff to Dallas?

No they are a facility just like Dallas except that they are much smaller so I believe they are just a walk in facility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great day! I absolutely love Beverly Hills. I’ve bought many watches from Geary’s Rolex AD. They have three stores and I buy all my pieces from Joanne from the Century City location. I also have one walking distance from my condo in Santa Monica, but I’m loyal to Joanne. Have always been treated very very well and the GM “John” is a real gentleman!! So glad you had a great visit!
