Question about tropical dials

Hi everyone,

Do dials that start showing slight signs of tropical brown eventually turn full tropical? And will it take many many years for that to happen?
Is it possible for the slightly tropical dial to stay exactly the same?
I am asking because I have seen dealers advertising watches that are "slighty" tropical and asking for a premium and was wondering if this was legit or not...

cheers

I would not expect it. Dealers just take every chance to make more money. To pay a premium I think it needs to be brown in most light. Not just that perfect angle where you might be able to compare it as different to a normal black dial. Just my opinion of course but if a dial is ”tropical” it is obvious.

It's non so easy to say if a "dark brown" could become a real brown and so turned tropical... But dealers try to find any expedient to sell a watch to a higher price.
