Any Jeep Fan?

Midlife crisis recently came into full effect. I bought a ‘95 Jeep YJ Sahara to cruise around in on the weekends. It was in great shape with new paint and I couldn’t pass on the deal. Odometer reads 260K miles but you would never know it by the way it drives, the previous owners kept her well cared for. I added the 4” suspension lift and 285/75/16 KO2 A/T tires with Pro Comp wheels.

Driving it truly brings me back to high school. A friend of mine had one identical.

Any other Jeep owners on here? I’d love to see them.

Ha! What year was yours? They say the 4.0L inline 6 motor that mine has in it are pretty solid. 260K miles and still going strong.

1996 TJ 2.5L Auto with half doors.

When it worked it was good.

But the car was practically rebuilt by 60k miles.

Cracked manifold, all u joints, tranny, rear diff, soft top, cluster and steering rack.

I’m still recovering.

The best days of Jeep ownership are the day you buy it and the way you sell it. I like the looks of them and think they have the “cool” factor but don’t want to own. Yours looks great tho and makes me want to watch MacGyver

Looks great! I would love to have a weekend Jeep but I'm looking for a new daily driver at the moment.

I used to rent cars in the early 90s and Jeep owners were some of my most frequent repeat customers. Jeeps were just horrible back then. My boss had one as a company car (brand new Cherokee) and he had problems with the rear diff along with all kinds of electrical issues. I remember driving it occasionally and it was a 50/50 proposition when you hit the power window switch if it would actually do anything.

I rented a Wrangler in Cancun a few years later and it was just awful. One of the most miserable vehicles I've ever driven.

Nice YJ, I had two of those a 42 Willys and a 14 JKU along with the oddity jeep 750 Military ambulance. All stock with the exception of tires and shocks.

Yes, I do like my jeeps. And you are right. The 4.0 HO. Is probably the best engine jeep ever made.

Charlotte: Oh.
Bob: But the good news is, the whiskey works. [Charlotte laughs] What are you doing?
Charlotte: My husband's a photographer, so he's here working. I wasn't doing anything so I came along. And we have some friends that live here.
Bob: How long you've been married? [lights Charlotte's cigarette]
Charlotte: Oh, thank you. Two years.
Bob: Try twenty-five.
Charlotte: You're probably just having a mid-life crisis. Did you buy a Porsche yet?
Bob: You know, I was thinking about buying a Porsche.

My grandfather had the exact same YJ. Color scheme and everything! Enjoy it.

Is it financially viable option? Is the residual value about equal to its market value?

My wife has a JGC Trailhawk with a V8 but Jeep people will say it’s not a “real Jeep”.

Residual is very much in the ballpark according to KBB.

Good deal. I know there are lots of car business guys on here that can run auction reports for you I am sure but I have noticed that with Wranglers there seems to be a big spread between wholesale and retail.

So if you like it and it has been good to you and relatively trouble free, I say go for it!!

It’s a beauty!!

When I hit my third childhood I'll probably find a restored CJ5 or 7. By then I'll be too old to enjoy my Harleys and won't fit into my 61 VW bug either!!

Bought my first in 87 while living in LA. It's so superficial there that the car you drive is very important and I couldn't afford a Porsche, and everyone loves Jeeps so it was the cheap alternative. Chicks dig it.

Bought the next one in 2005 and when I drive it now young guys pull up beside me and then look and see an old f%#ker driving it and the disappointment on their face is very evident. I know they're thinking "what a waste".

I have had six. Right now a 1982 Scrambler I bought new and a 2017 Unlimited.
I’m really drawn to the new model, but I’m waiting until next year when the new pickup is released.

I have a Compass as my winter vehicle. In Canada it's common to have a 4WD winter car as a "beater" -- corrosion from the road deicing salt and calcium is pretty bad.
