My crystal looks foggy on BLNR

Hey guys, the crystal on my BLNR has become a little foggy over the past couple of weeks. It appears to be on the inside and you can notice it most when light is reflecting off of it at an angle. I pursched my watch brand new from an authorized AD and it is less than 3 years old. The crown was not unwound at all recently so this has me concerned. I took my watch back to my local AD yesterday and they checked it in. They have 2 on site Rolex technicians that are Authorized to work on it. I was a little shocked when I was told this most likely would not be a “warranty” item. I was told only the internal moving parts carry a 5 year warranty? Needless to say I am a little dissatisfied so far. I should hear back later this week their findings. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm no watch technician, however, sounds like there is moister inside the case. They recommend you get your watch pressure tested yearly if you swim/dive with it. Humidity brings out the "foggy" crystal. If its in for service, you'll know soon. And yes, they don't warranty waterproofness, unless they're in a good mood.

Very interesting. I would think this would still be covered under warranty.....Especially since it's only 3 years old? I didn't realize that it's only the movement that is still covered. Its obvious that moisture has entered the watch somehow. Even if the crown was unscrewed, it should still be watertight unless it was taken into the depth limits in that condition. I know there are numerous threads on internal condensation issues and fogging up, but most are older watches. Sorry you are dealing with this. I hope they take care of you and that it all works out in the end.

Heard back from my local AD today. I was told the crystal on my watch will require replacing and they are performing this under warranty. Nothing was causing moisture to get inside my watch, which was a relief. Apparently the newer style sport models have some type of coating on the crystal for anti-glare. At least that is what I was told. I'm just thankful it is covered!

I have Professional models purchased more recently than yours that don't have anti-glare

Glad yours is worked out. Post us pics if you can, would be interesting to see what you're explaining.

Whew!!!! Weird answer on waterproofness. There was a guy on here with a Sea Dweller that actually used it at the depth it's designed for and acquired moisture under his crystal. They fixed it under warranty.

The only AV coating on the GMTc watches is under the cyclops and on top of the cyclops crystal area,on watches like the Subc only on top crystal surface cyclops area..

Goes to show that most AD’s don’t know what the hell they are talking about.
