Grato !

But honestly, I think the relation for Rolex "offer/demand" here in BR is way more balanced than Europe or USA (However, still not balanced enough) !
We've been supplied with quite many Daytonas and BLRO/BLNR/LVc but with a smaller percentage of people on waiting lists or with the means to buy expensive watches compared to Europe/USA.

No wonder why people from abroad are starting to purchase here.

Not sure if you read some of my older posts regarding what the Rolex Boutiques and ADs here call "the parallel waiting lists"...

It's a list they made for Foreigners living abroad !! I saw one at Rolex Corsage CJ and there were MAAANY Chinese, some British, and some other nationalities.

Really? That doesn’t really surprise me. I agree with you, much more balanced here. Last time I went to Rolex Iguatemi they actually had a GMT LN and SubC and they said Rolex instructed them not to have them up on the window, I guess they want to keep up the appearance of the SS shortage!

Hopefully I’ll have a LVc and a Daytona coming my way soon! I’m much more confident than if I were in the US or Europe.

Yep !

What I've noticed is that most ADs and the 2 Boutiques here have: GMT LN, Black Sub (Including no date), Exp II (Both dial colors), Yatchmaster and Yatchmaster II. LVc and BLNR is not taking longer than a month or two to get (guesstimate).

The real shortage is naturally: SS Daytonas C, SD43, SDDS, not to mention, the SS BLRO. Even the WG BLRO I found the other day at Monte Cristo AD JK Mall.

During my most recent trip to Norway at my wife's hometown, there's only one AD (Askeland) in a 30KM Radius, and the salesman said the demand was so high for the BLRO that they actually gave up on the initial list !!

Flying back to Brazil, I had a connection in Amsterdam Schiphol and when I asked about the BLNR/LVc (I own them both... was just curious) and the BLRO, all I got from the salesman was a funny look followed by a his laughter...

Haha yeah, just went to Moscow and St. P for the World Cup and made stops in Paris, Barcelona and Madrid. ADs in all of those cities basically only had a bunch of DJs on display.

I’m still waiting on LVc though, it has been 3 months! AD at Frattina thought it would be a month, but hasn’t gotten one in a while. If you hear of any ADs in SP that get LVcs more regularly please PM me!

You bet !

One question though....

Have you considered purchasing from SP countryside cities ? I bought my BLRO from an AD in Sorocaba ! That's why they are going to delivery the watch to my Apartment next week ! It was part of the negotiation

ADs in Campinas could be an option too !

Just saying...

Thank you !

I believe I'll be cursed forever here for saying this but in fact, I NEVER wore any of my Rolex when on duty.

I'll explain why:

When you see Flight decks from Airplanes and particularly in movies, with the crew wearing nice watches, very fit impeccable clothes, etc. It's a perfect environment like shown on PanAm Series Lol. I'd even venture to say, a cozy place to work !

Since I admittedly baby my watches, flying Offshore Services Helicopters, although having a large cockpit due to the Helicopter sizes (SK-76 mid size) and (Airbus EC-225LP / SK-92, both Heavy), is a quite different experience compared to Airline Planes hehe. It's an extremely dynamic operation, wearing in some cases, thermic neoprene suits for SAR or MEDEVAC, Life vests full of Equipments like PLB, UHF, and some other "gadgets". You almost feel like going to the moon It vibrates, it's NOISY even with the noise cancelling headsets, It smells Kerosene, it's not pressurized, you have a lot of sunlight on your face and arms everyday being almost mandatory to wear some UV protection sleeves or hoods (the glasses are not shielded and small like jet planes), etc ... Add to this, in my case, for 10 years operating in a VERY hot and uncomfortable costal city on the State of Rio de Janeiro (700 KM from my city which is in different State). There's even flight attendants for the operation but not to bring us coffee and meals LOL. They are supposed to take care of the cabin and passengers safety ONLY, it's a contract for some Oil and Gas companies, not an aviation rule since the passenger capacity is limited on purpose exactly because of this and to carry the Sea Survival Equipment such as Deployable Shelters, some food and chemicals. I remember once wearing my TAG and wasn't even on my Regular Duty... I was only doing night shift maintenance when we start up engines for some mechanical procedures and I chipped my TAG case so bad that I thought I'd have to throw it on the toilet

Summing up, I never risked myself to damage my BLNR or LVc inside the cockpits. I have a Maurice Lacroix Quartz beater, completely scratched, hitting metals, switches, doors, cyclic, collective, windshield, etc. haha

Call me crazy but no matter if we call the SS Rolex "tool watches", for me they are not tool watches at all and not because I think that they can't take the beat but because they are too expensive to look like a Vietnam war piece

Thanks, Estrela !

I'm indeed very happy and surprised but the price issue that you've mentioned, I know I'm paying a bit over MSRP but honestly, until now, I was thinking it wasn't so bad

You are the 3rd or 4th one to mention this ! I'm starting to get worried If I really made a bad deal, however, considering the difficulty in getting this model and the grey market value, I'm quite ok with the price ! Monte Cristo JK would only give me a 5% discount over the same R$ 46.200,00 (Paying at once), however, to receive it in mid August.

PS - Since this other AD (Arrais) wouldn't give me any discount paying at once or splitting, I ended up choosing to pay in 3x of R$ 15.400,00.

Next week when I receive it, after posting here I'll post on FRM !

Let’s see if they actually come in. From what I’ve heard, AD’s never know when the allocated watches will actually show up....

Except when we have 2 Boutiques and many ADs that are linked to a big Rolex office Distributor, which is the case in the city here LoL...

Thanks for the advice !

Thanks! Very interesting insights from the helicopter pilots world indeed.
All the best with the watch during the off-duty time then

The insights are from Offshore (Passengers/Cargo/SAR/MEDEVAC) Operations only and not necessarily a regular Helicopter pilot world
