Which luminor models have the 'square' case?
I tried this model on in Dubai and have decided now I much prefer the more square casing compared with my pam111.
When was this case brought out? What models does it appear on? At first I thought this must be the new casing for all new luminors, however while searching I found unworn 2018 luminor but it still has the same more rounded casing similar to my 111 which I don't want. Thanks |

That’s a “1950” case. Check out the entire collection on panerai.com.

As you can tell I really am not very well informed on Panerai, I have wanted to add a new one for some time. If anyone can suggest a model with 1950 case that doesn't have the SnapBack case and doesn't have low water resistance it would help, thanks.

Yes, the Reg TM only appears on the Luminor 1950 cases.

You are interested in the Luminor “Bettarini” models, like 000, 005, 24, 104, 111, 112, 164, 176, 177, 360, 560, 564, 590, 779, 911.... there are dozens and dozens of them. I just listed a few.
The case was developed in the early 90s in the “pre-Vendome” (independent) era when Panerai first started selling watches commercially (as opposed to the Italian military since the 30s). FYI - no 1950 Luminors have a snapback case. Only certain recent entry level Bettarini-style Luminors. I didn’t list them above because, well, I’m not exactly a fan. As for Reg TM, yes, you are right. It’s only on the 1950 models. Below are the families of cases: * Luminor (Bettarini) * Luminor Submersible * Luminor 1950 (there are slight differences in this family: 233 vs. 312/320 etc vs. 372/422) * Luminor 1950 Submersible * Luminor Due * Radiomir * 1940 Radiomir Good luck with your hunt! ![]() |

Thanks for all your comments, been searching for a few hours. I like the simplicty of the 1950 372. It's 47mm though which may be just too big
