I love my Exp II(Polar).
I can understand why there is a degree of dislike for this watch, but then again I never wanted to follow the crowd.

When I made my first Rolex purchase, I had choices down to Exp II or SS Sub date. Once I tried them on there was no doubt the Sub was going to choose me. I was slightly disappointed in the look of the white Exp II once I got it on because going in it was my favorite. But I just can't get away from it. I think off wrist, at least my wrist, it is very handsome and I' m sure it will be in my collection shortly.

prefer EXP I over EXP II on any given day, the only draw back is i wish EXP I comes with a date display

I own an Explorer II with black face, great everyday watch. The only complaint I have is it can be difficult to read. I have considered trading up to a GMT II or going with a bigger 42 mm watch like a Omega planet ocean. Both seem much easier to read at a glance.

Love Mine

I have an Expy II, White Face. Love it. Has the GMT function with the 24 hour format as well. The bezel doesn't turn as my GMT began to do before I traded it for my Expy.

The Expy II is one of the best Rolex watches ever made.

I can't get my Expy-II off of my wrist. It was my third Rolex, and is by far my.....

...most worn. (I just feel bad calling it my favorite, because I love my Sub and my DJ.)

Bottom line: it gets 90% of the wrist time. I love the way it feels and looks. I don't think I've even removed it from my wrist once in the last six weeks.

IMHO, the best in the Rolex line up are the Explorer II and the Sub-No Date.

One thing for sure and that's it a one of a kind

Wearing mine today after a over a week with the GMTIIc on the wrist and love the change.

If you can afford it as a 1st or additional watch then simply GO FOR IT
Got to agree with this one.

I prefer the Explorer. The II is not for me, but I appreciate its spot in the line up.

Interesting... the Exp II seems to fly beneath the radar, then when people find them... well, read above

There is another Rolex model, available in both black and white dials, that used to fly beneath the radar. Now people wait years for them and pay over the MRSP... some kind of chronograph model I believe...

Cheers

i like the watch and it's functions. I travel a lot so i need something with a GMT feature. but i already have a sub so i don't want something that will look like another sub. so i got myself the exp II polar. Second, i like the history behind it. i think, if it helped sir edmund hillary climb up Mt. Everest then i think it can withstand the test of winter in Canada.

Rolex quality, Rolex comfort, Rolex functionality - great watch IMO, simply a matter of taste. I would like to purchase the white Exp II someday but have a few others on my list first. It is certainly a more subtle Rolex but I think that's part of the allure. Kind of shows that you're wearing it for more than just the recognition from others.

I love my Sub ND, and didn't much care for the Explorer II the first time I saw it, but the more and more that I looked at it, the more I appreciate it's subtle beauty. I think it might be my next Rolex (in a few years time!)
