Buying a Watch from a seller in Germany. I need some advise!!

I would like some advise. I am thinking about buying a watch from a seller in Germany. I am located in the US. I have never done business with a person in another country. What is the best way to handle the payment?

Here is a link to the watch.

Thanks for your input!!

Credit card you should be covered then if you have any problems, and you might have to pay some import duty or you could be lucky and pay none.

Thanks for the advise but unfortunately the seller does not accept credit cards.

Has anybody used an escrow service? I wonder what the fees would be?

you can do an international bank transfer. you need an IBAN and SWIFT number of the sellers account. takes a few days to process. I would not use escrow personally as there are so many scams with escrow all the time and the buyer probably will not accept it. You are not covered by anInternation bank transfer per se but it is traceable. If you trust the seller then I would use that method. Have used it to pay and be paid before

I used PayPal to pay for some repairs that I had done in Germany. They did the currency exchange to Euros. I detest PayPal, but it worked this time.

I would try PayPal and use your credit card through PayPal. Just make sure it's insured and that it does not have Rolex written anywhere on the description!

I have had my eye on this one for the past month or so. The seller has been out of town for the last 3 weeks. He will be back on the 12th so we will see if everything works out.

Thanks,

Joe

just check the seller out very carefully..check all of his references..and once you trust that he is o.k. then you can just send a wire, its much simpler..

I have been doing some research on how to pay for this watch. Ebay recommends www.escrow.com. I wanted to see if anybody has ever used this service?

If this does not work I am leaning toward paypal.
