Vintage MB149 - advice sought.
Long time user and lover of MB fountain pens here, including my 149 purchased in 2003 and a 146 gifted by my parents in the 90's.
I have at last taken the plunge into vintage MB, with a vintage mid 50's 149 restored by Osman Sumer on the way. I can't wait to start using that flexible vintage nib. As I am new to vintage I have a few questions for those of you in the know - 1. I understand the filling process for the telescopic piston is basically the same as the MB modern piston filler. Is this correct? 2. I plan on using modern MB ink, but will probably avoid the brighter colours such as purple or green for fear they could stain the ink view window (which still shows the stripes on my pen with the usual pleasant ambering). Am I correct in this approach? 3. Presumably I should adopt the usual cleaning regime, occasionally flushing through with tepid water? Any other advice or tips greatly appreciated. Thanks chaps !

That's about it. You have a wondrous pen coming from a wondrous source. The one thing to remember with the two stage piston is that there actually is a different fell, a noticeable detent as the second stage engages. Don't panic and you will soon get used to it.
