Well, just take it real easy. No sense getting riled up over something like this.

99.9% of the time the only people that will notice your watch, outwith your friends, family and the occasional woman is a fellow WIS or a Thief

Well, my fondness for Rolex eventually led me to end up here, so I suppose one could say I've made friends based on it, yes. Friends from around the globe, no less! That's pretty darn cool!

I've made a connection with a salesman at an AD, not the one I usually deal wit, because he seen me wearing a Daytona. They,Ross-Simons, hardly ever recieve them. Let him know I was looking for a Milgauss. Well he got a black one, I got a call. Already bought one. Stopped in when I was in the area just to say hello. Well he got a GV and I got a call. Don't think he would have ever called me if he didn't see the Daytona

This thread has really turned UGLY.....
I think the OP asked a very good question.....

I remember a posting on newturfers a few years ago that answered this question.... I was so impressed with the post that I printed it out!!!!

I will try and repost here if you like....

Whilst a watch is a watch.... A rolex does allow for perfection.... just like owning an S class mercedes.....

When I was in small business .... many successful business people wore a Rolex also....

I believe there is more to this question.....

PLEASE BE NICE HERE....

What happens on other forums stays on other forums. Keep it that way.

We don't appoint chalkboard monitors here, Archie. Leave it to the mods.

Followed perhaps by a connection of the significant other's eyes with the credit card bill and then a connection of her foot to your keyster?

Thank goodness I've never even thought of this before. Making connections in life with a Rolex.....or any damn watch for that matter?

I've just managed in life with a friendly disposition, some diplomacy, tact and the good ole' JJ charm!!

Always worked for me, guys!!

Of course my point was that without the Rolex connection I would not have enjoyed a visit and dinner with JJ and Zemina. nor would I have met or had contact with my other friends on the Forum.

Thank you all.

I hope you all have a great Xmas and New Year.

A few months ago I walked into an AD just out of curiosity sake and stumbled upon a SS Black Daytona. To make a long story short, I ended up purchasing the watch for MSRP. The lady that sold me the watch asked all the typical questions such as what my occupation was, etc. etc. I jokingly threw in the conversation that I was also single and looking. She laughed and said she'd be on the lookout for me. I left the store and thought nothing else about it. A few days later I got an email from the girl that waited on me. In the email she told me that she found a girl that I should meet. Well I ended up meeting her and now we're dating! I guess in this case my Rolex made a connection. :-)
Hi and Welcome.

Great Post.....

Regards Mike.

It was a pleasure meeting up with you and your lovely daughter too, Eddie. Hopefully, some day I can meet the rest of your family.

Yeah. OK. You got me. I loose my temper over the ramblings of forum denizens on a regular basis.........

I still think it was a dumb post.
Hey there DC watchman, you know there is a white X on a red back ground in the top right of your windows based computer and a red dot in the upper left corner of apple... in stead of loosing your temper and attempting to find it again in the thread you lost it I believe, it to be better to exert prudence and click the X.
